Kudos to him for pushin himself and trying to do something a bit different.
But IMHO, there's not enough "meat" on this song to justify a 6+ minute length.

I say this with all due respect, but how you can think that first verse is from a machine's perspective is beyond meToNsOFuN88 wrote:That's what I gathered from it, personally. You'd have to have some cheek if you're a machine saying that to a human

Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine
IMO, I think the song goes like this:
Human (1st verse)
Vessel (pre-chorus)
Human (chorus)
Human (2nd verse)
Vessel (pre-chorus)
Human (chorus)
Vessel (1st half of the bridge; up until "Follow to the bitter end")
Human (2nd half of bridge; from 'walking in a nightmare' until the end)
Human (chorus)
I wish the vessel had more lines The human is too aggressive and belittles the machine while all the machine wants to do is be friendly, loving, and caring!
....I dont know!

Maybe it’s just me, but are there strings that play in the background of the last chorus? Not just the last few seconds of the song, but the entire last chorus. If so, damn that’s awesome.

I think I hear some strings. Around, 5:15-5:24ish? Is that what you mean?AB4Lyfe wrote:Maybe it’s just me, but are there strings that play in the background of the last chorus? Not just the last few seconds of the song, but the entire last chorus. If so, damn that’s awesome.

Yes, but I mean throughout the entire last chorus too. I feel like I’m hearing some strings buried in the mix.

I guess I'd have to check that out with some proper headphones later cause I dont think I'd notice it on my computer at the moment.AB4Lyfe wrote:Yes, but I mean throughout the entire last chorus too. I feel like I’m hearing some strings buried in the mix.

There are strings going on in that last chorus for sure. Listening on the studio monitors right now and thats exactly what Im hearing.
Got most of the song down on guitar! Pretty simple song for the most part.

I guess perspective was bad way to put it. I meant its describing the vessels, while the softer part is describing the humans struggle as result of the vessels. Alot of people are thinking the heavy part is the humans point of view, while the soft is the vessels point of view. I just think the heavy parts reflect the threat, while the soft reflect the humanistic things the character is trying to hold onto while dealing with the conflict.Dan Dando wrote:I say this with all due respect, but how you can think that first verse is from a machine's perspective is beyond meToNsOFuN88 wrote:That's what I gathered from it, personally. Re: Tremonti pt #4 - A Dying Machine
I've watched a couple reaction videos to the song on YouTube, general consensus is positive! Im curious to see how reactors like Lost In Vegas would react to A Dying Machine and Tremonti in general. I know they liked Blackbird.

My guess - insatiable sexbots.
For all of the hope that it brings...

PSA: for anyone with a Twitter, tweet at Lost In Vegas for a reaction! I’d be curious to see that.SHEAKENBAKEN wrote:I've watched a couple reaction videos to the song on YouTube, general consensus is positive! Really into the subject matter of this one. Very excited for the album. Reminds me of OLP's Spiritual Machines (not the sound obvs).

Went back to hearing the teaser "From the Sky" the other day and I am on that hype train big time. This album is going to be epic.
