Re: MUSE
Yea, it could be a nod. It's got that same Floydian feeling, which I love.
I can't believe we'll have 2 new Muse songs in 2 weeks. I haven't been this excited about an album since Fortress

Re: MUSE
The ass line is sooo silly But somehow I love it.. I really wish I were a fly on the wall in the studio when they decided to keep that line in.. I can really imagine them having so much fun with it
"Super drones" kinda made me cringe though and there are some other cheesy moments. Not as cheesy as the lyrics of Survival luckily though.
Oh well.. The song itself more than makes up for the lyrics for me

Re: MUSE
Well, musically, it's a good start. I like the way Matt delivers the chorus, even if the lyrics are kinda underwhelming. "Your ass belongs to me now?" Also, I'm a guy who wouldn't like being shouted at by a drill sergeant and would pretty much quit if I was ever on that spot, so lyrically, this does not connect with me as well.
Like I say, decent start, hoping there are better songs though.

Re: MUSE
That was an amazing song! Just wish the theme was different. It's not a metaphor if you're beating me over the head with it.
Re: MUSE
Like the music but it's one of the worst Muse songs I think I've ever heard. Lyrics especially.

Yea, Matt seems to be getting more literal every album. I prefer his nonsense lyrics from the first 2-3 albums. His delivery is still really good though.Fish Tacos wrote:That was an amazing song! Just wish the theme was different. It's not a metaphor if you're beating me over the head with it.
I do think the song is a bit too long. I don't mind that 4th chorus, but there just isn't much variety in between. Could've done without the 1st bridge and the 3th chorus.

Re: MUSE
Setlist from the first show. They played 2 new songs
Psycho:
https://youtu.be/DWJ1lrY52dA
Reapers:
https://youtu.be/596ISCHL9-A
Psycho is absolutely amazing live, which was expectable. Reapers in interesting. Musically it's definitely new (or old) territory for Muse. It's cool to see Matt have a solo like that. The falsetto in the chorus was pretty weak, but I like the melody. The AC/DC-ish riff felt kinda misplaced but yea, I'll wait for the studio version before fully judging the song.

From Matt: "For those concerned, guitar is totally fine, I'm using it tonight, it's taken much worse. Manson guitars are built to last; military grade... M"Dolo wrote:The quality of Reapers isn't so good, so it's hard to judge the song right. But it's a pity that Matt fucked this guitar up

I love the person recording while jumping in the Psycho video one or two heads up. That is going to be utterly unwatchable lol

Yeah, I've seen this. An average guitar would split in half, but not this one apparentlyTimotheus wrote:From Matt: "For those concerned, guitar is totally fine, I'm using it tonight, it's taken much worse. Re: MUSE
Yea, they played it again last night, and it sounded a lot more comfortable. They added a little bit of distortion during Matt's falsetto part as well, which made it sound really cool. It's been stuck in my head the entire day. Absolutely loving it.

New lyric vid for Dead Inside. It has silver boobs in it. Not overly keen on the song though.

For all of the hope that it brings...
