What would you like? Tremonti II
Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
Yeah, not every chorus has to be catchy. Makes a song with a metal riff turn soft kinda fast.

Yeah man, that sounds pretty spooky and Opeth-y. I'd love to see more of that.Timotheus wrote:I'd love to hear more like the intro/verses of Brains.

Oh yes, that! Bring on the dark, moody stuff!Timotheus wrote:I'd love to hear more like the intro/verses of Brains. Those are my favourite moments on All I Was. But please not too many catchy choruses..
I know it's kinda cliché, but I voted for heavier. But that's because I'm a metalhead and am way more into the heavier and moodier AB songs than the lighter/ballad-like songs.

Leave it Alone is such a stellar song. That song is everything Tremonti wrapped up into one song.
Thanks Timo!
Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
One of my favourite things about Mark is his ability to write heavy but still be melodic. I want more thought out solos though. Enough with the fucking wah shit. One of the songs late in the last cd (I forget which) is just a bunch of noise over a tremolo picked open riff with a couple of hammer ons or something. Really juvenile if you ask me. Other than that, I have no real issue with keeping similar to that album. No real change needed.

Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
yeah the bridge of that song is pretty obnoxious and crazy.
Thanks Timo!
Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
It's not overly bad. It just could be so much more. It feels so lazy.
Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
In All I Was it's more of a mood/vibe setter, at least that's the way I think of it. I kinda like it, something 'different'.
I completely agree on the 'wah' stuff though! I love the fact Tremonti recorded (almost) all solo's on Fortress without wah, and hate the fact he still wah's them live! Why?!

Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
Cause he's self-conscious about being "slopppy". I hate it too
Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
So Mark is a little Kirk Wahmett.
Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
I'd like heavier songs but also longer tracks with extended instrumental sections where Mark and E-rock can trade off.
It was a great part of the live show when Mark and E-rock took a break to trade solos, if they could incorporate that into a song.

Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
I would like to see one or two songs sang by Mark. All the other vocals being made by guests: Myles, Stapp, Amy Lee, shaun morgan, Brent smith, to name a few.
Two melodic low tempo songs. A lot of heavier and mid tempo songs.
One instrumental song.
Thats it. If he gave us the same All I Was formula I will not care too much for this album...

AB stepped up their game with Fortress, Slash and Myles did it with World On Fire.. Let's hope Mark continues the trend with his new album. I'm really curious about his vocals, because he sounded really good during the Fortress tour, and he should be a lot more confident now.

Re: What would you like? Tremonti II
I dont see him having guest vocals, theres not a reason to. And this time around he's probably not just gonna throw bunch of riffs together. I think the band will have more chemistry this time around kinda similar to how Slash and the Conspirators have found their sound with this second album.
Thanks Timo!

AB and Slash really did step it up with Fortress and WoF. I think Tremonti knows this and will step it up to keep upTimotheus wrote:AB stepped up their game with Fortress, Slash and Myles did it with World On Fire.. AB5 better be the best damn thing they've put out if they keep it up. I trust Elvis. I'll still love it either way, loved ABIII.
Thanks Timo!

I think AB 5 will put them above and beyond. Hopefully all debt with other record companies will be cleared leaving AB to do more touring and promoting
