I had to look this up to see what song it was. When I first heard it I remember feeling like the intro was epic and my guess was that it was the title track. Then the heavy came in and I was a bit underwhelmed. It’s actually a cool song though.. it probably would sound better earlier on the album. Sometimes It’s good to listen to a long album backwards. Gives you a different perspective.gbruin wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 11:22 am100% agree on Island of Fools in that #2 (Come To Life, Isolation, Addicted To Pain) spot on the album.Ubik wrote:I'm happy with Fortress the way it is, the one I think could really benefit from a rejigging is The Last Hero. Show Me a Leader is a decent opener and I've always loved Writing on the Wall, but that's not an opinion shared by all. Whereas, Island of Fools is a straight up monster. Should've been the lead single and track 2 - willing to die on a hill for this. The band for some reason have never realised its greatness.
I will defend that hill for you.
I’d contribute an under appreciated song but I’m not sure which songs are appreciated or not. I saw Shoe Me a Sign mentioned earlier. That’s a really great song for my money. It’s very dark and unique. My least favorite part of it is the chorus which Is guess is most people’s favorite part if they like the song at all.
Do people like All Hope is Gone? I love that song. It perfectly captures the feeling that everything is just pointless... and at the same time makes me feel better about it.
