We ran sound for one of our friend bands last night, and this came up on the house music. I Shamazed it. Liked it. Fell down the rabbit hole of their music.

What are some of the best songs on that album? I like some of his stuff, but am not really motivated to listen to an entire album, as I found his previous one to be quite hit/miss.

Likewise. I just keep myself looking for a few surprises or twists and turns with WVH.

Right? has an interesting beat for most of the song and a particularly heavy breakdown that shows that he wasn't kidding about some of the album being inspired by Meshuggah. Another Celebration At The End Of The World (the first single) is near perfect as an uptempo heavy rock song. Take A Bow sounds like it could have been written by Alter Bridge. I'll leave it at those three. I'd have to listen to the rest of the songs more to find anything else that really catches my attention.

Take A Bow, Optimist, Right, ACATEOTW were probably my favorites.

The problem I have with both of Wolfies albums is that it's impressive he's able write and record everything solo, but alot of his riffs, rhythms, and melodies sound generic and his voice is kinda average too. The tracks I picked are only picked because they were the ones with some decent generic riffing sections/good solo :lol

We think alike. I'll add Optimist to my list of favorites because it had an interesting time signature (7/8, one of my favorites). Also, the double bass section caught me off guard in a good way.

I guess you won't really like my songs then. I record everything solo, a lot of my riffs, rhythms, and melodies are generic, my voice is below average, and I can't solo nearly as good as Wolfgang can.

I quite like his voice. It's all the unnecessary layering of vocals that makes every line sound the same.

He's got some creative ideas and has some moments of brilliance like that bridge of Take a Bow (which was really fantastic :bow), but the song itself gets lost somewhere between the speakers and my ears. Elvis has this weird quality of making everything sound really bland by emphasizing everything but the essence of the song.

In Alter Bridge it's less apparent, though still a problem, but it absolutely destroys the playful nature of this band I think.

Very true words. I know it will never happen in a million years, but what do you think Alter Bridge, Tremonti, Mammoth WVH, and the rest of the Elvis circle bands would sound like with Nick Raskulinecz as a producer? He produced Halestorm's Back From The Dead, which is one of the most emotional hard rock albums I've ever heard. I think his production may have something to do with it. He seems to know how to get the essence of the song across.
