Crumbso wrote: Tue Apr 23, 2024 8:29 am It's an all time classic album. I love it. There are so many great solos on the album as a whole that I don't really miss one on the title track.

People bitch up and down about the 2004 remaster but I actually like it. The bass is much more powerful and the cymbals don't dominate the high end quite so much as the original.#
So far from what Ive heard from the other Megadeth remastered albums I've listened to for first time (Peace Sells up to Youthanasia) I can see why Rust In Peace is the fan favorite as its my favorite of the bunch but the other albums all have great riffs and solos too.

I prefer the remastered versions of all the albums because the original production just doesnt hit the same way.

Rust In Peace was always my favorite Megadeth record. The guitar work is just phenomenal.

Megadeth's The Sick, The Dying... And The Dead! album. Specifically Night Stalkers atm.

So far I've completed a full listen to Killing Is My Business, Peace Sells, SFSGSW, Rust In Peace, Countdown, Youthanasia, TSHF, United Abominations, and Dystopia.

I would say the guitar work on every record I've chosen so far has been phenomenal :lol Megadeth is one of those bands I have no idea why I waited so long to check them out properly.

Metallica did everyone a favour when they fired Mustaine and gave us Megadeth instead :lol

gbruin wrote: Thu Apr 18, 2024 2:12 pm I've been listening to a lot of Ad Infinitum lately as they will be opening for Kamelot on their upcoming tour, and damn I wish I'd been listening to this band from the start. Fantastic music (much of which sounds a lot like Walk the Sky-style AB), melodies, and songwriting. Adrian Thessenvitz is playing an 8 string and rips. Melissa Bonny was Kamelot's guest female singer on their last tour and she was great in that role, but she's really strong as a lead singer. She has a gorgeous voice and great gutturals, and she is also just achingly beautiful. What a great band.
I'm going backwards on their albums III, II, and then I. I like what I'm hearing (watched a Charismatic Voice video of Elizabeth reviewing/reacting to "Afterlife"). I need to give them more focused listens but I don't have a negative reaction like Edge of Paradise. If you like Ad Infinitum I'd suggest checking out Anaria if you haven't already.

checked out Pantera's Cowboys From Hell album for the first time. Dimebag has great solos and riffs but the bad production and Phils vocals make it hard for me to really get into the band.

I have resorted to listening to this LoFi Hip Hop Youtube stream from a channel called LoFi Girl. I like it. It's pretty calming and helps keep me grounded when the things I enjoy a lot isn't going in the ideal manner I hoped it would go.

Plush's first show of their first headlining tour ever. They sound amazing. I can't wait to see them on May 25.

This band has always sounded like AI generated metal to me.

That's why I gravitate towards Dustin's old band, Downplay, more than Starset.

Freaking epic outro on this one.
The whole album dropped and it's called Charismatic Leaders. If you're a fan of Tool knock-off bands like Soen, Rishloo or Lucid Planet it might be right up your alley.

^^ Too bad, I just saw them last week and it was a very fun show and the visuals were awesome.

This song though..... Yeah, this isn't what I think of them at their best. This leans more towards the generic Sirius XM Octane bands that somehow ends up being the 1st opening band for AB for their states tour.
