Going for a second listen now. It should be on loop for the rest of the night!

There is no way to describe the feeling of listen to a song of your favorite band for the first time.

Damn, for some reason I was not expecting to be this impressed. This could be their most consistent record to date.

"Waters Rising" is the best song on the album so far. Man, I was NOT expecting this album to be this good.

Re: Listen to Fortress!
I just barely joined this forum to put my thoughts here.
First I would like to say that I would probably be content with anything the band released but this just BLEW ME AWAY! The diversity of this record is amazing. From one of the heaviest breakdowns I've ever heard in "The Uninvited" to the way the chorus in "All Ends Well" which gives me chills. Ridiculous how good this album is. I usually am not sure about records until the 2nd or 3rd listen. The first listen 5 songs in I knew it is instantly this one is special.
My only negative about it is I agree the order of songs on Loudwire seems to mess with the flow but once I looked at the actual order all my concerns were gone haha. Good to see a good community on this forum.

Another photobucket casualty...

Joined the site to ask this question... Why does Cry A River have riffs from The Uninvited at the end? Same drum pattern, same riff pattern, everything.... Was that on purpose?

Not sure how you missed it. It's pretty obvious... Some of the songs have a "Full Circle" feel to them as well. Makes me wonder if Mark pulled some old riffs from that recording session and used them here...
Re: Listen to Fortress!
I noticed that, too. Some riffs sound like they'd fit in on that record, but that's what happens when you're a guitarist for multiple bands.
Re: Listen to Fortress!
Not sure why, but this kinda happened with the end of All Hope is Gone and the beginning of Still Remains.pokefan_4 wrote:Joined the site to ask this question... Why does Cry A River have riffs from The Uninvited at the end? Same drum pattern, same riff pattern, everything.... Was that on purpose?
Re: Listen to Fortress!
Peace is Broken is actually quite radio-ish as a lot of you guys have mentioned but this badass riff saves it, in my page.

Agreed. I've got no problem with it if there was reasoning behind it. I doubt it was their intention but it draws you back to the beginning few songs... When I hear it it makes me want to skip back up to The Uninvited and hear that riff play through...
The intro to Calm The Fire is epic epicness... It has that Queen feel for sure
