I'm fairly certain Timo was looking for who trashed the Fortress artwork

Just listened to the album in full again for the first time in about a year or more. I forgot how awesome these songs were.

I've been listening to the new Slash 4 album, Marching in Time and The Last Hero, all have been in my shuffle the past month or soTheLastHero wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 7:08 pm Just listened to the album in full again for the first time in about a year or more. I forgot how awesome these songs were.
I got the Royal Albert Hall version of Addicted To Pain recommended to me on YT and it sparked me back into a Fortress mood
Seriously one of their best albums, definitely in the top 3 for me (depending on my mood)
has anyone here heard the rarities from fortress? which is your favorite?

Never listened to the rarities from Fortress. I must go do that right now.

The only one I am aware of is 'Never Say Die' (mislabeled as 'Outright') and it's alright. Not my absolute favourite B-side.AmockAB wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 7:30 pmI've been listening to the new Slash 4 album, Marching in Time and The Last Hero, all have been in my shuffle the past month or soTheLastHero wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 7:08 pm Just listened to the album in full again for the first time in about a year or more. Damn. Long thread.
I’d like to say that one of the reasons I’m sometimes critical of the mixing on the albums is because I think more people I know would give AB more of a chance if the mixing on the studio albums sounded better. And not just wall of sound or loudness wars era stuff.
Like, I’m not complaining about it just to complain.

Oh damn we’re bumping this? Ok.
Fortress is Alter Bridge’s best record. Period.

I don’t think there’s been a bigger single day in the band’s history than when they dropped that stream. Board traffic was CRAZY! Couldn’t stop listening the entire day, literally went front to back on the album about 7 times, and listened to Achilles and Fortress an addition 5-10 times each.joshuabeau wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 11:29 pmAgreed.
Read through the thread when the stream happened. That thread is epic.

I distinctly remember being in a class when that stream released and desperately trying to download it from my phone. The hype was insane.
Good times.
Good times.

It was crazy, particularly after ABIII had a slightly mixed reaction (compared to Blackbird at least) and all the stuff with the Creed reunion, everyone was just so happy that day
For all of the hope that it brings...

Take the Crown is a pretty pop song, but so what? I like all types of music.
Also sometimes AB could stand to not just do the same thing lyrically they always do.

Bleed it dry still has one of their best solos imo
Re: The 4th Album - FORTRESS - Discuss The Album Here!
It's top 5. Up there with Blackbird, Fortress, Brand New Start, and probably Myles' The Last Hero, for me.
