Alter Bridge 'Walk the Sky' spring US tour 2020
Re: Alter Bridge 'Walk the Sky' spring US tour 2020
So if you follow their history they'll probably hit the east coast again around oct/nov/dec time frame.
Re: Alter Bridge 'Walk the Sky' spring US tour 2020
Agreed! Hoping for a proper East Coast run later in the year. I'd also love for them to really cover Canada as Anguyen referenced they had expressed interest in doing. They should get back to South America too, with its passionate base of rock fans.

Jebus, non-Pit GA tickets at the LA show looks so juicy to buy. Only $35.00 (after fees) on Stubhub right now. WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU WAITING FOR LA PEOPLE? GET ON IT. I highly double people get desperate to sell it and it goes below $30.00 after fees. If I didn't already got tickets, I'd be on it, even if it's non-Pit and I'm best guaranteed a 3rd row spot after the VIP people get in.
On a more ridiculous note, people are selling parking passes on Stubhub for the show for about $60.00. Jebus, regular parking in the building next to the Wiltern and the Ralph's is $25.00. There's a parking lot near a rooftop golf driving range that's like a 5-10 minute walk to the Wiltern that costs $16.00. What does paying $60.00 get you?

Man would I love to hear AB cover a Rush song in Toronto. They could pull that off, esp with the keyboard in the background now.anguyen92 wrote:Yep, they want to do a Canadian run as well, not just Toronto and Montreal. That was addressed in a Q&A that Myles and Flip did (the video is out there on Youtube somewhere).

That would be awesome, but I don't think anyone in the band, except for Brian, are insane Rush fans for them to consider that possibility.

The stage placements of the Sonic Temple Festival. AB will be 4th on the main stage. The Saturday main stage looks really good though. It's a huge galore of bands that made their mark in 00s. Slipknot, Evanescence, Staind, AB, The Darkness, and you also got Saint Astonia (where the main guys are Adam Gontier formerly from Three Days Grace and Mike Mushok of Staind).

The Darkness are great live, entertaining and really tight. Saturday looks good!anguyen92 wrote:The stage placements of the Sonic Temple Festival. AB will be 4th on the main stage. AB fronting for Evanescence? Got damn I need to go change.

Playing behind Staind bothers me. Those guys are still a band? I thought Aaron took all his toys and went home a long time ago/

AB will be in Rocklahoma with the usual suspects. I will say that there's a 70% certainty that they will be playing on the same day as Staind. Don't know how I came up with that number, I just have a feeling. I just hope if Staind does a big summer tour that AB will not open for them. I mean the exposure and pay could be nice and the demographics are pretty similar I imagine. That stated, they still need to do their own shows in the usual big markets in the states this year before deciding to take their year off next year and having them open for a band in the states, this year, wouldn't do anyone any favors (they can save that for doing it in the pre-album release times though).

I thought i saw an interview where Flip said Rush is his favorite band, or perhaps he said Peart was his favorite drummer (maybe I got it wrong)anguyen92 wrote:That would be awesome, but I don't think anyone in the band, except for Brian, are insane Rush fans for them to consider that possibility.

I would believe it if Flip says that Peart was his favorite drummer. Either Peart or Bonham, but from what I've read, he's always been a huge Living Colour fan first.lavillasean wrote:I thought i saw an interview where Flip said Rush is his favorite band, or perhaps he said Peart was his favorite drummer (maybe I got it wrong)anguyen92 wrote:That would be awesome, but I don't think anyone in the band, except for Brian, are insane Rush fans for them to consider that possibility.
Ok, I checked the wiki. He mentioned that Living Colour, Tool, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Rush are his favorite bands.

Re: Alter Bridge 'Walk the Sky' spring US tour 2020
Back to the subject of Staind, they are doing a big Summer Amphitheater tour. Good news is that AB will not be a part of it. Instead, Staind will be on the road with another band that AB's familiar with, Disturbed. This is part of Disturbed is celebrating 20 years of their debut album, The Sickness and yes, I bought a ticket for that show at the FivePoint Amphitheater in Irvine. It costed $35.00 for a row two spot at the most centered section of the far left sections of the amphitheater. I call that an easy way to convince me to buy it. Bad Wolves is also opening this bill. I liked them when they opened for Papa Roach last year.
Should be a fun summer. Three shows in September in the same Amphitheater: Disturbed and Staind, Nickelback with STP and Switchfoot, and Matchbox 20 doing their own show. All the tickets were bought on Groupon for less than $45 each. Not a bad way to spend September.

Disturbed are headlining this year's MMRBQ in Philly (annual festival hosted by our local rock station). Looking forward to it!

Re: Alter Bridge 'Walk the Sky' spring US tour 2020
I've got tickets for the 2/11 show in Huntsville. I'm disappointed given the setlist from last night's show in Lake Charles, LA. I have the "Bands in Town" app. AB sends me updates regularly through the app. Three weeks ago, they said "We are changing up the setlist." The last two of three messages, they sent some easy-to-figure-out crypto messages with lyrics. The last one was lyrics from "Take the Crown," which I fully expected them to play on this tour. However, what's very disappointing for me is six days ago, the message included lyrics from "Slip to the Void."
No "Slip to the Void" from last night's show in Lake Charles, LA. This may sound picky to some because it's a 10-year old song, but it's collectively mine and my wife's fav AB song. Plus we've only gotten to see them as fans twice. (Technically three times...we saw them at a festival in 2005 but weren't fans yet). When I received that message, I instantly told my wife they'll be playing it on this tour. SOOO excited to believe they were bringing it back.
Further, and again may be nitpicking, but they said they were changing the setlist up. They haven't changed it a bit, unless they're referring to placing a very few out of order as compared to their 2019 tour.
Why hype specific things on an upcoming tour, but not follow through?

It's the first show and it's in a casino and there might have been casino restrictions on how long they can play for. They didn't even play Godspeed and that's the current single out right now and has been a big staple of the tour so far. We'll see how the sets are after the Shiprocked cruise.

That is interesting that they didn't play the current single. And you might be onto something about venue restrictions on set time since last night's set list does seem a bit abbreviated... basically their usual "template" lineup stripped of any slots they usually use to mix things up.

They played 15 songs, which is three more than they played on their 2019 U.S. tour.abw1987 wrote:last night's set list does seem a bit abbreviated
