Honestly shocked that the riff on In The Deep is a Myles riff.

This video has One Life playing in the background for some part so in case anyone does not want any spoilers, please don't watch. And god it sounded better than anything I have heard yet!

You’re right. Pay No Mind was by Mark.

I read somewhere that Indoctrination is a Myles tune.

LOL I'm not saying people are being harsh about You Will Be Remembered, but I'm wondering what other people absolutely dislike about it.

I always thought it would have been cool to hear live for our country's troops in front of a big crowd. Not at an AB concert, but like before some event.

I don't like its tempo, though.

You Will Be Remembered is not that bad, the hyperbolic hate for it I’ve seen here recently is pretty retarded. I enjoyed it on first listen and think there are worse songs in the AB catalogue for sure.

Yeah, it's weird that 30-second clips haven't surfaced. It's impressive the album hasn't leaked yet, so I didn't even think about the clips.

It was the least favourite straight away - viewtopic.php?f=8&t=3006

I do wonder how opinions have altered over the years. I was gonna do some polls on the weakest song from every album but never got round to it.

I like reading my old posts. Most of the time I don't remember writing them, and it doesn't happen a lot on here that I read a post and think: "I completely agree with this guy!! Bless his wisdom!"

Man, that thread is hilarious! :lol
I feel bad for Twilight though, it's one of my favorites from that album. Such a nice solo! I guess they saw this thread and decided to never play it live but couldn't do the same for You Will Be Remembered because of Brian. :P

One week to go...

I haven't listened to Dying Light yet, only listened to In The Deep a few times the first day or so it came out, and I haven't listened to any of the first 3 releases in several weeks at all. I'm hoping to keep everything fresh to hear the album as a whole so I can then freely agree with everything that has been written in this thread.
Another photobucket casualty... :(

So there are some mellotron sounds, just like I wanted - that's good!

At one point Myles says that Elvis can change the sound of the keyboard part without the band knowing - what? Why? It adds to the notion that they actually don't hear the final versions of their own songs before them being released. I think it's very strange and doesn't make any sense.

For those who want Elvis gone, watch the second video, and you'll realize he's going nowhere. They absolutely love what he's doing.
The thing that is more surprising to me is that nobody in the articles/reviews/interviews is saying a bad thing about the production.
Are we all deaf and collectively imagining things? Is Elvis actually a mixing genius?

I don't really get the hate towards Elvis... I mean he produced not only the "bad sounding" records but also Blackbird! So, if you have anyone to blame, blame the band. They chose Elvis in the first place and they decided to let him produce their other records as well... so...
