Hating Trump isn't limited to someone who is intellectually lazy or someone who "turns on their tv for 10 seconds for inspiration."

Trump is one of the most hatable people on the planet, and this extends a couple of decades before he was ever running for POTUS. Even if you agree with his political ideology, he's an extremely hatable dude. He's an obnoxiously privileged, annoying, seemingly unintelligent, and objectively bigoted dude who skipped out on military obligations, makes lewd comments about women, has cheated on his many wives with porn stars/strippers, and loves to tout obviously untrue conspiracy theories.

It's not "intellectually lazy" to dislike this person. It's fucking rational. Throw his political ideology and political career aside. This guy is a fucking extremely dislikable person. It's difficult for me to think of more dislikable people unless they're pedos and murderers or something.

So spare me, Trump supporters. Stop getting so triggered, seriously. You're ONLY making this song political bc the guy happens to be POTUS. But almost every one of these lyrics applied to the guy before he was ever in charge. Humanize it

Myles' backing vocals are cool!! Also the double chorus rules.

Might be one of my favorite parts of any AB song. The repetition with the change in rhythm/power etc. is so incredibly great, cannot stop listen to that. :mkrules :mtrocks

Edit: I also get the feeling that this song COULD be about Trump, fits very well, especially the passage I am talking about. Makes me love this song even more. :peace
Dude, give it a break.

Statements like this just prove how loony those with Trump Derangement Syndrome have become in today’s world. Literally everything has become about him and it’s rather sad to watch my fellow man wallow in misery.

Mark is a Republican fwiw.

Don’t care what Myles thinks while our nation is doing great, just give me great music.

Nope, doesn’t sound like he was a fan of either candidate last time around. He articulated his feelings well in the article, IMO. In a way that is easily relatable.

LOLZ

That is never once said. Mark is smart enough to be vague about his politics. Lord knows when you actually express your true feelings to the general public, those on the far left go nucking futs.

That interviewer also appears to be deranged.

You may want to read through this thread again to see who politicized the song, bud.

Moving on...

I don’t disagree with many of your points. But the fact remains that, IF this song was inspired by him (not certain obviously), it doesn’t get written if he doesn’t get into the Oval Office. Myles wasn’t going to single out a random celebrity.

Just imagine if we had a song about Hillary. We could call it, “Everyone Who Double Crosses Me Ends Up Suspiciously Dead.”

If you crave logical and intellectual abuse that much then let’s take this elsewhere i.e. the appropriate subforum.

Anyone else fascinated by the transformation of political messages of the band going back to the Creed days? If you look at the lyrics of some of the songs on "My Own Prison", it is definitely right wing ("In America" is anti-abortion and conservative on sex, "One" seems to see affirmative action as discrimination or reverse racism, the song is against racism but has a naive "both sides" p.o.v.) to now with left wing messages in the climate change songs (Bleed it Dry, Waters Rising, Writing on the Wall), the Other Side that decries religious zealots, and the anti-fascist/ anti-Trump songs (Show me a leader, the Last Hero, Pay No mind).
It seems like people who might be right leaning are taking issue with these AB songs and while I grew up a Creed fan and loved "my own prison", I am definitely progressive and cringe when I hear some of those Creed lyrics today.
I know some people want to leave the political discussion out but sorry there is nothing that is truly apolitical. Politics are in everything especially art.

What this guy said.

Kev, you relented on not listening to any more songs! Was counting on you to share the pain. I'm gonna expand my allowed list to Take The Crown as that one looks like it may come out before the end. Probably in September knowing my luck.

They should write a song about snowflakes on a forum that get upset that their favorite band didn't write lyrics that cater to their political narrative.

Well, I couldn't resist. Sorry. I wish I can guarantee that if AB releases a 3rd song before the album listening party that I will not listen to it, but I can't do that.

“When the last man falls...” is such a great sing-along for me, loving that so far.

Also, it’s amazing how toxic this board can get so quickly. Come on people, be polite.
