Just pretend it’s East coast time and it’s really 9am!
Or its 11pm in Australia!

I'll be going to Vegas for work in June, anyone ever been? There's a few things I'd like to check out like a Penn & Teller show, indoor skydiving and the buffet/fountains at the Bellagio but I'm open to suggestions.

The World Series of Poker is happening around that period. You think you got around $1,000-$2,000 to spend on a tournament? Perhaps run it up and land a six-figure score? That sorta of long shot? That used to be my dream to play and win a lot of money in the WSOP and then the dream died as I got older.

I actually have a betting strategy for Roulette I've wanted to do a Monte Carlo simulation for for years now but I've never gotten around to it. Long term the house always wins but in the short term I think there's a sweet spot between a few variables where the player can come out ahead if the strategy is right due to betting on red/black. odd/even being ALMOST a coin flip. I'd be able to code it in Matlab and do 10,000-100,000 sessions across the variables' range and see if the sweet spot is there or not where a session either ends in your bankroll being depleted or you hitting your walk-away amount in winnings. Never been much good at Poker though :)

Full-time content writing. No more freelancing/hunting for clients, and steady income. Couldn't be happier!

I hope it means full-time TABN writing, too.

Yay! Congrats. What sort of content? Is it for a regular publication?

I had to close the application process on my assistant position after I received too many. It’s a tight race so I’ve limited my offers to the applicants willing to pay me money to work for me.

I'll be working for a company that offers a pro blog writing service to their clients. So that removes the "searching for clients" part for me and gives me enough monthly work to actually have a steady income. While I was freelancing and finding my own clients, it could be great one month and then they'd all disappear the next. It just didn't provide the kind of stability I needed. The catch is that the company gives all rights to the clients, so the content is theirs to do what they want with (meaning my name won't be signed anywhere), but that's fine with me now since I'm not really looking to make a name for myself in the freelancing world anymore -- I just need the work and the paycheck.

Had my relationship “terminated” via a passive aggressive formal business letter inside a box with my stuff yesterday. But I got a new dog today, so you tell me, who won?

Dog = win

And someone broke up with you like that? Damn...at least a break-up like that decreases your chance of a backslide since you know who you’re dealing with.

NFL Draft is tonight, go Hawks!

(We’ll probably trade away our pick and not do anything tonight...)
