greats from AB111
There does not seem to be enough love giving to the album AB111.The third album can be tough for a group to do well and I think Alterbridge did that. What do you think are the best tracks on AB111.The ones that moved you.
For me Slip to the void for example is a winner.Another group might have made it too dark and depressing.Alterbridge always offer light at the end of the tunnel.Let love back into your heart to fill the void.Brillent and so true.

They're only on Album number 5 and you're talking about Album number 111?!
Re: greats from AB111
Okay, jokes aside, I think that ABIII is the best album of Alter Bridge. Sure, my opinion is driven by many subjective points, I was 16 when the album was released, yet the album as a whole still gives me goosebumps. Beginning with Slip To the Void, the most awesome opener since Welcome to the Jungle, followed by Isolation, a song that literally burnt my synapses back then. The whole dark mood represented my feelings back then, still I go back to that album, everytime I have a "down" phase. Especially Fallout might be anthem of my life. Yeah... ABIII and All I Was are surely my go to, when i comes to emotional processing of severe situations of my life...

I find that lately, I've almost been listening to this album more than their others. It might be their simplest in terms of song structure, but that also makes it easy to come back to. It's accessible (but has a lot of depth if you listen closely), the production is amazing (especially compared to the albums that followed), and like Mr. Slash said, it's easy to relate to. I also really love Myles' vocals on this one.

Glad you like AB III as well.I have been listening to AB lll alot the last week. The most well known tracks from the album probably are Slip to the void and Isolation.I had actually much to my shame forgotten how brillent songs like Still remains,Words darker than their wings,Make it right are.Lyrically so deep with kicking rock guitar.

Definetly Myles kennedy was on good form singing wise in ABIII. I love when Kennedy lowers his voice and it gets kind of breathy like on the song, show me a sign.
He does it too at times in the last hero album.Tremonti sings more on this album than some of the other albums apart from maybe Fortress I think. He has a good voice.
Song structure wise songs like Still remains,All hope has gone can match alot of the best Alterbridge songs.

I thought it was A B Eye Eye Eye?
For reals though, fantastic album and I think it gets sort of overlooked, sandwiched between two absolute masterpieces in Blackbird and Fortress. The second half of ABIII is sort of an enigma to me -- individually, I really dig each song and feel each one in its own way, but collectively, everything from Make it Right through Coeur D'alene (tracks 6 through 12) feels like one big glob of filler. I also haven't listened to that album in quite some time, so maybe I need to go take a refresher.

Re: greats from AB111
'Slip to the void' kicked this album into being my favorite. That slow yet steady continual buildup is just something else and when it kicks in it doesn't let up until the end. Off the top of my head I pretty much agree that (for the era) its up there with 'Welcome to the jungle' as the best opener.
Re: greats from AB111
ABIII was a horrible album that drills into your mind the fact that they hate jesus and that also within its confines had a decent mixtape of WDTTW, AHIG, and STTV.

It's really just a mocking of the holy trinity. Why else would they call it III?AB23 wrote:that drills into your mind the fact that they hate jesus

Sorry, I just really want to blow this thread up.

Some people say that ABIII was the reason why Ghost started their career as an anti Christianity band.
