Re: Royal Albert Hall DVD
The idea of having a choir to fill out the harmonies in the chorus of Cry of Achilles (let alone a bunch of other songs) is just staggering to me, if they decide to do that.

Show Me A Leader with orchestra and a choir could be incredible as well. I always thought that song deserved so much more in the studio.

A small interview by Tremonti about RAH DVD.
He says they will have 2 days of rehearsal with the orchestra. Isn't short time for a big show like this?

Re: Royal Albert Hall DVD
I suppose if it's two full days they will be able to run through the full set's-worth of songs maybe 10 times? Not bad IMO. I doubt they'll be doing a bunch of real-time brainstorming on arrangements anyway, given the orchestral parts will presumably be entirely written beforehand.
Re: Royal Albert Hall DVD
The orchestra has already been working on their arrangements I'd say, and I believe I read somewhere the orchestra just plays to the speed of the drummer at an event like this, so I would say they'll be fine with a couple days.

Re: Royal Albert Hall DVD
I mean if the orchestra can pick up the rhythm and the pacing of the band on the fly as great as something like this, I think everything will be fine.

Don't forget to put the code in. Otherwise it looks like nothing is available.
Re: Royal Albert Hall DVD

Re: Royal Albert Hall DVD
If you're in the top ring, it's actually a pretty good view. I saw David Gilmour from there and it was great. Get there early though because the standing spaces fill out.
Re: Royal Albert Hall DVD
Sorry if it's a stupid question, but do you think there will be a supporting act? I would assume not for this type of show, but I'm unfamiliar with orchestral adapted rock shows and the Royal Albert Hall as a music venue in general.
Re: Royal Albert Hall DVD
I don't think there will be a support act. The Royal Albert Hall site just says the Alter Bridge show will start at 19:30. I'm hoping its just them to be honest!!!JamesPB wrote:Sorry if it's a stupid question, but do you think there will be a supporting act? Re: Royal Albert Hall DVD
Two days of rehearsal is plenty. AB knows how to play their songs. The orchestra will be full of musicians who could probably sight read through all the music first pass. It'll just be bringing together those two elements, working on transitions, etc...
