I will do nothing until I hear the first single, their last album did not convince me.

Same. Still trying to be optimistic here though.
The phone call made me laugh. I'd pay money to avoid phone calls, not the other way around, no matter how famous the person on the other side is

That's fair, there were a few good things here and there on the last album but overall it was nothing special. I'll give the new stuff a chance though and see if they've progressed.AB4Lyfe wrote:I will do nothing until I hear the first single, their last album did not convince me.

The first album had that awesome artwork underneath the physical CD amirite?

Yeeep. Hard to admit, but Eric Friedman never really convinced me, which is sad, cause he seems to be a cool guy and there must be a reason why Mark likes to have him as a guitarist in Tremonti and in Creed. But for me he is just the guy who plays some random blues licks after every chorus...AB4Lyfe wrote:I will do nothing until I hear the first single, their last album did not convince me.

Jesus Christ, it's all over the place on Tremonti solo records.Mr. Slash wrote:But for me he is just the guy who plays some random blues licks after every chorus...

My thoughts, exactly.Mr. Slash wrote:Eric Friedman never really convinced me, which is sad, cause he seems to be a cool guy and there must be a reason why Mark likes to have him as a guitarist in Tremonti and in Creed. Good for him, but for instance, I always had an issue with him being on stage with Creed. It's like, what did he do to deserve such an honour, aside from being Mark's friend ?
Re: Ignite My Insanity Discussion
Cool. Last album had some decent tracks. It's nice that it comes out soon too.
Well, he plays guitar well enough for the role he served, merely a touring member. I would have issue if he was granted real membership though.chtimixeur wrote:My thoughts, exactly.Mr. Slash wrote:Eric Friedman never really convinced me, which is sad, cause he seems to be a cool guy and there must be a reason why Mark likes to have him as a guitarist in Tremonti and in Creed. So it IS a concept album! After watching the video though it sounds like he means it more like there being a central idea, like ABIII, rather than a "true" concept album. Either way, it really seems like this is going to be a big leap forward for this band. Can't wait to hear it!

Riff should have been done in a lower octave or replaced with the solo pattern altogether. Lyrics are pretty cheeseball.
Re: Ignite My Insanity Discussion
I want to like this band as I've heard some crunchy metal riffs in the teasers and I'd like to hear Flip in a more metal context. But nothing on the first album really grabbed me and their new song is awful.
It starts off promising, until 25 seconds in where it just jumps to a boring and lifeless chorus. The song is so focused on that poor chorus. I'll listen to whatever songs they release from the album for the sake of fairness, but as of now, I have no intention of listening to an entire double album from these guys.

Yeah, that song is not convincing...

Wow, you guys are tough. I loved the first record. This record sounds cool so far. I pre ordered the $22 bundle. Looking forward to it.
