Mark posted a pic of the prototype of his signature PRS amp.
What we know:
- 15 watts
- "affordable" (~$700?)
- 2 channels
- available in both head and combo
- based on the Archon platform but voiced more like a Bogner Uberschall
Obviously, at 15 watts, he won't be using this live. I'd say it's similar to a Jim Root Terror, trying to get you closer to the artist's signature sound without dipping into your 401k.
Anyway... the pic:
The Mark Tremonti signature amp exists! Well... the prototype does anyway.

Interested in this one. By affordable I'm assuming it's less than $1,000. The $700 range would be nice but that seems more realistic for the head only. Being a two channel amp, the price point will depend on whether the EQ is shared or separate for each channel. The pic makes me think they're separate although I can't read what each POT does.

15 watts is more than enough for my own gigging needs so I'll happily invest.

We're talking 15 watts, tube, right? Not solid state?

That's my understanding of it. Haven't heard about the specs of the amp but I would imagine it's a tube amp. I don't know of many signature amps that are solid state...except maybe Dimebag if Randall made one for him.Jaded Rescue wrote:We're talking 15 watts, tube, right? Not solid state?

Good point. Plus, 15 watts solid state for a signature amp wouldn't exactly be loud for a head. Haha.Andy92 wrote:That's my understanding of it. Well I mean, you can see 4 tubes in it. Granted, that's probably the 3 preamp tubes (probably 12AX7s) and FX loop tube.
I highly doubt it has a solid state power section.

I kinda wish tubes weren't the best sounding component for amplification. They're such a pain to deal with in comparison to transistors and FETs lol.

Hoping it has a good clean sound, and he uses it live.
