I got a follow-up phone call about the job position with Enterprise. They stated they are going to do a phone interview with me, tomorrow afternoon. I need some advice on how to present myself on the phone that gets me the face-to-face interview.

You have to play it right. They won't be able to see, feel, taste and smell you over the phone, so that's a lot you don't have to worry about. The only sense that remains is hearing. My advice is: have some energetic music in the background during the interview. Preferably a song about teamwork. This will make you come across like an energetic guy who's ready to work together with other people (and who's also cool.) If you don't find a song about teamwork, just go with Eye Of The Tiger. That one always does the trick.

Rihanna's "Work" is also an option, because it would make you sound like a guy who's ready to work.

As much as it pains me to say, don't use Alter Bridge. Once you get to a solo, the interviewer will just focus on that and begin looking the band up and miss all of your responses. Eye of the Tiger is a good choice because everyone knows it so they don't need to focus on it, but still get the positive vibes from it.

Well, finished the phone interview. They asked a lot of behavior questions. Describe a time when you showed leadership, when you went above and beyond what was expected, when you had to self-motivate yourself, what areas of communication do you have an issue with, how do you stay competitive, and what were your overall goal in college. I stated my answers and then they wanted to clarify my answers which I stated, "Yes, that is correct." I think I did all right with few stutters, but nothing too serious or derailing.

I hope I get that face-to-face interview.

My original song that I just finished the rough draft of. It should fulfill your distortion needs.

Showed a couple of you before I put it up over here, let me know what you guys think! Will be going back and recording it for real at the studio for my college's spring ensemble album. Have a couple of changes to make but I'm just pretty happy with it!

(p.s. never let a drummer get his hands on programmed drums. As you can tell, sometimes they go a little overboard)

Wow. That was some game. Can't tell if NE was great or Atlanta gave it away. The Falcon fans must be in agony right now.

Well, it's been a week since the phone interview and I haven't anything from Enterprise since then. They hadn't sent an email stating that I did not get the job, so that's a good sign, but the length of waiting so far has me a bit nervous. Should I send a follow-up email to them? If so, when and what should I state?

In other news, I sent a follow-up email to the person I did the phone interview with stating this.

"Hello. I hope you are doing well. I am typing this email to follow-up on last week's phone interview. I am very interested in the value I can bring to Enterprise and be able to prepare financial statements, provide external and internal communication to rental locations, vendors and various departments for Enterprise. Can you please let me know the status of the Staff Accountant position? I would greatly appreciate it.

Once again, please feel free to contact me if you find you need any more information. I look forward to Enterprise's decision. Thank you once again for last week's phone interview.

Best regards,

Andrew Nguyen"

So, what's my play after sending the email and I still haven't heard a response?

Also, I applied for a Junior Accountant (General Ledger) position as the Bicycle hotel and casino. Don't know how that will play out, hopefully, it goes well if I can't land a job with Enterprise.

I didn't get the live interview. Arghhhhh, I'm always so close, and yet, there's always a long way to go.

Here's some randomness: Mark's best guitar solo of 2016? I know and love that "The Last Hero" came out in 2016 but "Dust" is the answer... I said it.

Been a long time, old friend... I expect you have become a regular a Grace Potter concerts and are good friends with Warren Haynes at this point. For the record, my favorite part of TLH is that Mark stepped back and let Myles go on the leads on the album. Myles really shines like a diamond with his leads on TLH... but still Mark on "Dust" though...
