https://youtu.be/uahTl1ZJvWw My bad man. I actually don't think so. Myles is using the exact same guitar on Open Your Eyes.
Re: 2017 U.S. headline tour...........
Both Waters Rising and My Champion sound much better in the original tuning.
Re: 2017 U.S. headline tour...........
I like TSOF okay. I loved it the first few times I heard it. But then I listened to the song with the lyrics in front of me. It really takes away from the song when you see that it's basically just the same lyrics repeated over and over and the verses and chorus are partially the same.
Re: 2017 U.S. headline tour...........
The contrast in TSOF is what I like most about the song. My only issue is the transition from the second chorus into the bridge section. Building into that change rather than a hang and hitting the downbeat in, would have made the switch over better.

And yet Myles' intro is still out of key.AHart96 wrote:
Seems like they finally played My Champion in the original tuning, it's definitely noticeable compared to previous videos. I think it sounds great

Myles sounds pretty good during the verses of My Champion. Yet the chorus is still to squeaky imo.

Why people keep saying that is out of key, it's just not distordedThe Plotblocker wrote:And yet Myles' intro is still out of key.AHart96 wrote:

The thing I don't care for about TSoF is that as far as I can tell, it's not about anything. Am I just missing some kind of deep meaning? Or are Myles lyrics riding the long train to vague-ville?
When I listen to it, I keep nodding off because of the repetitiveness of the thing. The only thing that draws me back is the amazing bridge. I honestly feel like it's 7 minutes of the greatest singer around, singing about nothing relatable.

Not out of key. The droning note is just not the same as on the album.Dolo wrote:It's not about the distortion, it is still out of key.

But the droning note is not in the same key as the fretted ones, I suppose. Therefore it sounds out of key.Timotheus wrote:Not out of key. The droning note is just not the same as on the album.Dolo wrote:It's not about the distortion, it is still out of key.

Re: 2017 U.S. headline tour...........
My understanding is that it's supposed to highlight the theme of disillusionment with the election process and it's from the perspective of people after the wrong leader was elected, and having to come to terms with it. They keep it vague as always as to not get political with their music, but it's pretty eerie when you listen to it with Trump's election in mind. "The choice has been made, it is time" .... "We were all so very wrong" .... "What have we done, there's nowhere to run".... etc.One Drew Remains wrote:The thing I don't care for about TSoF is that as far as I can tell, it's not about anything. I've regretfully been absent from posting here for the last few months as work has been life-consumingly busy. However I am currently in an Uber on my way to Philly for the show tonight and obviously super pumped for it! Bringing a group of 7—some longtime fans and some budding new ones—so I won't be lining up early like I usually would. Looking forward to the middle-of-the-crowd experience which is certainly fun in its own right, albeit differently so than the rail experience. Going to be a blast!

Well I think after tonight they're off until Tuesday so hopefully he gets plenty of time to rest up.
Re: 2017 U.S. headline tour...........
He sound checked WOY, so I'm guessing it'll be back tonight.
Re: 2017 U.S. headline tour...........
Sweet. My one friend who doesn't know much AB likes that song so I hope Myles feels up to playing it!
Re: 2017 U.S. headline tour...........
Show was awesome! Really enjoyed hearing the songs off of The Last Hero my first time live... especially Crows!!! The crowd was great – surprisingly enthusiastic given that AB haven't been through Philly in a while and WMMR barely plays them any more. The band appeares to be relaxed and having a great time. Looking forward to Boston!
