Re: Alter Bridge/Creed/Mark Tremonti Tuning Master List
I think Champion may be a half step and Poison is Drop D, half step.
C# G# C# F# A# D# ?'A whole half step Drop D" is even more confusing.
Re: Alter Bridge/Creed/Mark Tremonti Tuning Master List
Yep, Myles is half step in Leader as well.Kreuger33 wrote:I think Champion may be a half step and Poison is Drop D, half step.

Re: Alter Bridge/Creed/Mark Tremonti Tuning Master List
So did they both just play it in half step for the acoustic version?
Re: Alter Bridge/Creed/Mark Tremonti Tuning Master List
It seems so. Mark seems to be transposing the main riff to the higher Ab string and droning it with the 4th string.Kreuger33 wrote:So did they both just play it in half step for the acoustic version?

Re: Alter Bridge/Creed/Mark Tremonti Tuning Master List
So, AB just posted a link to an article where they break down each song, track by track, and Mark names out some of the tunings.
Since he officially put the tunings out there, I think we can add them to the list, since we don't have to guess. Mods, if it's still too early, feel free to delete, but here's what I see him listing off for sure, I may have missed any other mentions:
The Other Side: A#G#C#F#A#D#
My Champion: CG#C#F#A#D#
Twilight: DADGAD

When did he say drop c?Jaojong wrote:Crows on a wire = Drop C (Mark said they used Drop C instead of B/C# on this album)
The Writing on the Wall = Lowest note is A#, so it's either played on a 7 string half step down or Drop A# 6 string
Poison in Your vains = sounds like Drop C as well

Seems like sb listened to the album when they were not allowed to.Kreuger33 wrote:When did he say drop c?Jaojong wrote:Crows on a wire = Drop C (Mark said they used Drop C instead of B/C# on this album)

Yeah I figured that. Im just wondering which one I missed. also, I dont think any songs are in an open tuning on this album.Timotheus wrote:They got it from an interview.
Re: Alter Bridge/Creed/Mark Tremonti Tuning Master List
I think we have a confirmed tuning for Show Me A Leader! Although I dont have a 7 string, that looks good to me. Everything is a half step down, with the A# an extra step to G#

I'm confused. Does that mean the guitar in My Champion is B-G#-C#-F#-A#-D#? Would make sense with his comment about being a half-step off his comfort spot with the "Drop B tuning" (Come to Life/FTTS where the bottom is an A#)Mark: “That’s a new tuning for this record. It’s half-step down and the low string is tuned to C (but it's a B when down).
“I came across that tuning when I was jamming with John Connolly from Sevendust. He had said that was one of his favourite tunings, and I thought that was crazy because it's a half-step off of my comfort spot with the drop B tuning. So when I tried it I thought it was strange until I really figured out how cool it was."

Thanks for the sig Don Harry!

Honestly that is so weirdly worded it's either C or B.

Re: Alter Bridge/Creed/Mark Tremonti Tuning Master List
Are we including Myles' tuning as well in this list?
Edit: Went back and read the list, sorry.
In which case, for My Champion I believe the tunings are Mark: BG#C#F#A#D#, and Myles is in Open G half step down, according to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3ohUXR4Sqo

All Ends Well (Myles, Mark is in Double Drop C#)
Fortress (Myles, Mark is in Open D5 down 1/2 step)
Blackbird (Myles, Mark is in Eb standard)

Jeez, these guys do use some weird ass tunings. But you might be right, juding from the shapes Myles uses and in 0:48 they hit low B, I guess, which relates to Brian using 5 string bass and Mark being tuned to BG#C#F#A#D#

Re: Alter Bridge/Creed/Mark Tremonti Tuning Master List
Hey guys!
I'm sorry I haven't updated this list in a long time. I just got my first job out of college as a writer/producer at a local ABC News affiliate in Ohio, so that's been incredibly busy and stressful to say the least.
Enough about me though.
I will post all of the tunings (including the long-unreleased track Breathe) after the album is released.
But tunings I know for sure:
Show Me a Leader (G# C# F# B E G# C#)
My Champion (B G# C# F# A# D#): We know that this is what Mark is in at least (this is basically CADGBE a half step down, idk why people got so confused over this).
Now people being confused about Myles's tuning I can understand. If I go off of the live video of Myles's open strings, and Myles possibly being tuned down for the low E string for any rhythm parts, Myles is in Open G with a drop tuning, half step down (B F# C# F# A# C#). This tuning I'm somewhat used to from jamming around to Big Wreck songs so much (and this is also a high likelihood that Myles got this tuning from Ian Thornley and company as well).
Things were not made any easier with the live video being tuned down to A# range. If he is not tuned down, then he's just normal Open G tuned down half a step.
Poison in Your Veins: Drop C# (confirmed by Mark Tremonti on Twitter)
The Other Side: (A# G# C# F# A# D#) based off of the MusicRadar article that's been mentioned in this thread.
I know Mark also mentioned in the article that Twilight is in DADGAD, but I will wait until I hear the song before I pass judgment on it. It could be in DADGAD half step down for all we know.
That should be everything for now. Otherwise, I can't wait for this record to come out!
