I've never listened to the CoA radio version, and I def. not going to do it now. I appreciate my relatively healthy blood pressure.

I'm bookmarking it so I can check it out when I get home from work. I feel like I'm going to regret this decision though.
It is a radio version of it with some bits taken out which is kinda fine. It still works.
Edit: Ok, maybe not, there is a lot of stuff removed after the 2nd chorus (Brian's bass solo, bridge verse, Myles' solo, final chorus). Mark's solo and final verse is still there. Way too short. It clocks out at 3:50.
Ok, I had a brutal start to my day at work and didn't get to listen to the radio edit version. I went right for the full version and I am SO GLAD.
I was so concerned by the negative reviews here but this song is fantastic. Amazing intro, great vibe throughout, perfect single for them. Not quite sold on the pre-chorus (I think this is where the Slash comparisons are coming from) but I'm thrilled with the rest. The intro solo is very Muse-like which I love, there are parts that remind me of Calm the Fire, and there is one brief part of Mark's solo that is definitely way too much like The Cage but then the rest of it RIPS. I can hear the 7-string, and Mark gets really high in the backing vocals - a great carry over from Dusterize.
After one listen, I'm stoked about this song as the new album opener, dying to hear more, and I'd advise that everyone only listen to the full version from here on out (assuming it hasn't been removed yet). Leave the radio edit for casual listeners out there who need something more straighfoward to pull them into the AB universe.
Can't find the longer version anywhere. But anyway I like the radio version. Not so traditional AB song. It's great they still can create something new and fresh after four great albums. Not every band can do that.
The verse is very similar to One Day Remains, which is my favorite AB song.
Chorus is catchy, which is good to grab more radio time in America. I think they nailed it!
As for the intro, it's not an instant hook but it kinda reminded of Ahavo Rabo Taco Salad and Submersed's Divide The Hate.
As for sounding like Slash, I think you're understimating Myles role in his songwriting. Maybe Myles has more influence than you assume and his own style reflected on Alter Bridge as well.

Now this has me really intrigued. One Day Remains is absolutely one of my favorite songs! Still debating on whether I want to wait until the full album comes out to listen to this though, especially since it's the opening track.
