Is that true though? All I remember from the interview is there are no acoustic-y songs per se. Clean tones are fair game.hackingislife wrote:I feel like I may be the only one thinking this, but I'm a little bummed that there's no ballad in this one. Don't get me wrong--I'm still pumped as hell for this album. Been a die hard since day1. But it's a bummer that there's not ballad-y song in the album.

No ballads. At least not like Wonderful Life.
Don't think they'll play any new ones live on this tour. Never know though.

Photobucket cash grab.
Re: Alter Bridge Listening party
Proggy as in it had a more unique tone and rhythm to it. Not that it was heavier specifically.
Another photobucket casualty...

Re: Alter Bridge Listening party
Monty, you'll like You Will Be Remembered. That was the closest to a ballad. Sort of like Life Must Go On. Myles told zaz it was likely to make him cry.

Re: Alter Bridge Listening party
If you can remember, which song best fit the "epic" Blackbird, CoA type desciption? I know Flip said there were a couple on this album

Show Me a Leader and This Side of Fate were the two, and they both were the standout tracks in my opinion. Leader has what could be my favorite album/song intro AB has done so far, they're both killer songs.AHart96 wrote:If you can remember, which song best fit the "epic" Blackbird, CoA type desciption? Re: Alter Bridge Listening party
what stood out about the intro? (using different words than epic or heavy)
Re: Alter Bridge Listening party
Were the choruses as big as the past few records? Any that specifically stood out? Sounds like My Champion is an obvious one

It almost had a Metallica/Iron Maiden kind of feel to it to me, sounded like a ton of guitars layered on top of each other, it had a very interesting rhythm to it, it started off with a clean intro and then transitioned into just this wall of sound, gave me goosebumps right away.AB23 wrote:what stood out about the intro? Could've just been the speakers and where i was standing as the audio wasn't the best, but the only backing vocals I heard were Myles. I honestly didn't hear Mark once myself but people standing in other spots might have a different storyFish Tacos wrote:It was a heavy epic

Poor guys getting interrogated so much!
Just wait for the others to get home with their paragraphs and more in-depth descriptions! (Not that we don't appreciate your guys' contributions but you sure are getting interrogated! )

Re: Alter Bridge Listening party
I thought the track listing was pretty similar to Fortress, starting with one of the epics, then a fast and heavy song with a big chorus that could be a single, then a drop-tuned song, a lighter song (though not as much as Lover), etc. I guess they found what works for them.

That being said, I guess Cry of Achilles and Calm the Fire would be considered "heavy" and those are great.
I agree on CoA and CtF, but All Ends Well was my "happy" song from the album, if that makes sense. It's a bit of a throwback mixed with a calm mood. The rest I still enjoy listening to, but not when I'm just sitting back and closing my eyes to clear my head.
Re: Alter Bridge Listening party
For people asking about playing songs on tour, I saw a comment from Michael on Facebook saying they wouldn't play any new material live until the single drops, then they'll add that in most likely.

^^ Dang, and I think I heard somewhere in that Q&A that they have not figure out on what is the first single yet for the states. Maybe taking in consideration of the surveys from the listening party would certainly help them make a decision.

If it's coming out October 7th I'd say we'll have a single within the next month.
