Just because I only have one band does not mean I dont listen to other artists. There is plenty of bands I listen to with guitar solos but that doesnt mean they are any better than the ones I listed. I could list a solo like Comfortabley Numb by Pink Floyd or something from Slash but I dont listen to their music enough to even justify their solos. And Mark and Myles' solos are my favorite solos regardless. If I didnt post all AB/Tremonti Id just be lying.

I think Sweet child of mine is my favorite solo I've ever heard (so far). I just like the way it builds up , etc.

Re: Your 5 favourite guitar solos of all time
It's a winner for sure. I have a cousin who has played for almost 20 years, and I want to say he told me that he has over a thousand hours time invested in that solo. He can totally play it now like a boss. But jeeZ, that's commitment.

Re: Your 5 favourite guitar solos of all time
I know a guy who could play that solo flawlessly after 1 year of playing guitar. The thing was that he only practiced that solo and nothing else

So he couldn't play a G or a D, but he could solo Sweet Child? Genius, lol.

Re: Your 5 favourite guitar solos of all time
I think I learned most of it after 3 years of playing. I only practised solos as well, back then.
But 10 years on and I still can't do that part right at the end of the solo with really fast bending. It's a challenging solo for sure.

Haha, he could play some basic stuff as well of course, but most of the time he would just play that solo.

Comfortably Numb
Opeth's Hope Leaves live at Royal Albert Hall 2010 (what a fuckin solo dude)
Opeth's To Rid the Disease
Wolverine's My Favourite War
Myles' part in Blackbird
It's impossible to put only 5. But nonetheless, it changes up every now and then.
