Metalingus, Broken Wings, In Loving Memory is one of my favorite 3 song runs in any album...
This one's easy too. In Loving Memory.

This one's really tough between the two ballads...

In Loving Memory just seems a lot more emotional to me. Maybe it's just because I know Mark wrote it for his mom. And it's the AB song I found not long after my grandpa passed away.

I've listened to In Loving Memory about 4 times since we played it at my dad's funeral in October 2007... Not my favourite AB song to crank..

I can definitely understand the emotional attachment as to why you don't like playing it much now. But to me that shows how good the song is...because that's how much it emotionally means to some of us.Jim wrote:I've listened to In Loving Memory about 4 times since we played it at my dad's funeral in October 2007... easiest poll ever.. In Loving Memory is one of the best songs Mark has ever written..
Over thinking, over analyzing, separates my body from my mind..
Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers - Track 07
wonderful life has the best intro out of any ab song. its a shame they didnt work that more into the song...
in loving memory
in loving memory
Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers - Track 07
Since I'm not a big fan of ballads, I go with Rise Today - second AB song I've heard ever.
Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers - Track 07
The studio version of Wonderful Life doesn't work too well for my ears, it's just really awkward, it is much better acoustic and I think it should have been recorded like it, or left to Myles' solo album. Whereas In Loving Memory is one of AB's best songs.
Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers - Track 07
ILM, and I agree with the above, Wonderful Life should've been acoustic.

In Loving Memory for this one.
End of Wonderful Life is better with the full band.
End of Wonderful Life is better with the full band.
For all of the hope that it brings...
Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers - Track 07
This is pretty much proving to me that ODR is still their best album to date.
Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers - Track 07
Personally, I think I'm going to go with Wonderful Life. I understand Mark's connection to In Loving Memory, but to me Wonderful Life is more emotional, more depressing, and a little more dark. Plus, the end of Wonderful Life, played with the full band, is amazing.
Re: Battle Of The Track Numbers - Track 07
^^^ have they ever played the end of wonderful life live before? serious question

Definitely some classics on One Day Remains, but Burn it Down and One Day Remains aren't nearly as good as some of the songs they were up against, but hey, thats how the votes went..I'd have Isolation and Buried Alive in there for sure
