There's a monthly regional magazine I get, not sure why but some other membership I guess. Anyway, they have a section called "Top Ten Tickets" of music, theater, comedy, and such. Alter Bridge is in there! Text has too much reference to Creed but still yay!

Oh my goodness, just two days until their 1st show of the tour, and three days until their 1st headlining show. I feel like I'm so unready for this.

Also, 24 days until the LA show!!! Ahhhhhh! I hope the crowd there is good. Ryan, can it be the case?

All right, the first show is tomorrow. Here is the schedule and placement.

Note. Just because there is more than a two hour difference between AB and the next band on their stage doesn't mean they are playing long. I think that they are going to get 40 min. like they have been getting during these US festivals. Also, it's a decent placement. Behind STP with Chester and Judas Priest. Better than playing behind Limp Bizkit and Korn.

Are we going to keep everything in this thread or individual concert threads?

I don't know. I think, for headlining shows, there should be separate threads. Anything about festivals and miscellaneous tour stuff that doesn't have to do with how the posters personally enjoy the show could be here.

Though lately there aren't that many people posting, so maybe it's just easier to keep it all here. I probably won't have much to contribute, don't like filming at concerts.

The more I go, the less I film. I have all these videos from past concerts on my computer that I never even watch. I used to film a bunch of stuff at Rock on the Range, but this past year I think I filmed 2 songs and took about a dozen pictures. I have more fun just not messing with a camera much and enjoying the show nowadays.

But if it's my first time seeing a band I really like, I take tons of pics. It's nice to have stuff like that for a keepsake. But when it's my 2nd, 3rd, or 4th time seeing the same band, I don't need to get the camera out lol.

Yeah, I might snap a picture or two. But my old cellphone camera isn't great for dark shots, and I hate to lug around my digital camera. Plus I have shaky hands and am too lazy to edit stuff so noone's missing anything from me :lol

I feel for people in places where a band doesn't tour, and I'm a bit hypocritical for watching tour YouTubes myself before checking out a band live to see if they can actually play live before buying a ticket, but I have mixed feelings about what it all does to live music. (and also have to remind myself that crappy YouTubes are not a good test of whether a band plays well live.) I think it was Chris Cornell in an interview I read/heard who said bands can't try out new songs on the road anymore without them showing up on YouTube. I guess that would be like your rough draft being published before you were ready. I also HATE the sea of phones dynamic. Everyone filming a crappy shaky cell phone camera video instead of being there live. That should be one of the "concert types" on that thread - the videographer. Unless you're really good at it, not worth it. For me the joy of being at a concert is being lost in the moment with a bunch of other people who love the same music.

Wondering about tour merch (my old AB III shirt was falling apart and has departed) and decided to check out the AB website. Way to stay current. http://www.alterbridge.com/fan-zone.aspx

http://alterbridge.fancorps.com

And the whole site looks untouched for years. :( Granted most people use Facebook or Twitter but not everyone. And the store page on Facebook is under construction rather than going to their store page.
