Rock on the Range 2013
Can't wait for this year! Lineup looks sick!

Re: Rock on the Range 2013
Some great bands but does not seem as deep at the top end of the shows.
Re: Rock on the Range 2013
I think they have a better headlining group this year compared to last. Guess it depends on personal music taste though.

Re: Rock on the Range 2013
Very tempted by this (no surprise). Just not sure if I can afford the travel and whatnot.
Any intel on when they announce who's playing which day, other than checking each band's site? SG and AiC are playing in Camden NJ on the 18th (also tempting and a bit closer but fewer bands to see). AiC's site says the 19th for RotR. SG's website lists them in Columbus both the 17th and 19th but that seems odd.

Re: Rock on the Range 2013
Unfortunately ROTR probably won't release the day-by-day lineup until around March or so. From what I've gathered it looks like Soundgarden will close Sunday night with AiC playing right before them. Smashing Pumpkins are closing Saturday night (according to their Facebook). I'm hearing that Friday night is going to become a more extensive day this year as well, and it looks like Korn will close that one.
By the way, idk if there are many Korn fans here, but I thought they were just an okay band until I saw their live show. They're one of the most energetic groups I've seen. Looking forward to seeing them again.

Re: Rock on the Range 2013
Thanks. A lot of the bands are ones I probably wouldn't travel to see on their own but it would be nice to see them at a festival.
On the facebook page someone recommended Wiki's page. Granted Wiki has to be taken with a grain of salt but helpful. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_on_th ... 013_Lineup Hope Big Wreck announces their date soon.

Re: Rock on the Range 2013
I'm around 3 hours from Columbus, so it's a pretty fun weekend trip for me to take. I probably wouldn't go if it was much farther away though.

Don't think I'll make it to RotR this year, I'll try to catch some of my favorites elsewhere. Hope it's great.

Re: Rock on the Range 2013
I love how RED is in the lineup for this, it's not exactly a "Christian" festival like Winterfest.
Re: Rock on the Range 2013
Skillet and Thousand Foot Krutch are on the bill too, both Christian bands. ROTR have gotten Christian bands in the past too. I know Skillet has played there before, and I think Flyleaf was there a few years ago. POD was there last year as well. I think the promoters of the show do a good job at bringing in a variety of bands.

Re: Rock on the Range 2013
What's it being, or not being a Christian festival got to do with anything...? Christian bands dont only play to Christian crowds. Skillet play kick ass rock and roll, it's just the content and meaning behind the lyrics that make it "Christian", wether you believe in whatever the bands do or not.
The music, which is awesome is probably all that matters to the bookers

Re: Rock on the Range 2013
^ They do get booked because they make good music, I agree. I was just explaining seeing Christian bands at a festival like this wasn't anything new. I guess some people are surprised when they see bands like Skillet outside of Christian festivals, although they've been touring with bands like Stone Sour and Halestorm for a while now.
