Slash and AB's 2013 schedule
Obviously there is some concern about the amount of tour dates Slash has next year in an 'AB's year'. Can anyone give us the tour dates that are set in concrete for Slash next year?
When do we think AB's touring will take place and will it head well into 2014?

Re: Slash and AB's 2013 schedule
I actually see 2014 as the big year for Alter Bridge touring wise. This reminds me of when AB III was made in 2010, but the big touring year was 2011. I'm not sure what all Slash has planned past April or May.
After looking at Slash's site, looks like February is completely booked, but Mark will be touring then for his solo stuff anyways. There's a big break between March 4 and May 11. March and April will probably be when they try to record the album.

Re: Slash and AB's 2013 schedule
Knowing AB, I'd imagine they hit Europe next fall. America in the spring/summer. It would be cool if they did that in reverse though, so they could play the huge festivals in europe, summer 2014.
As long as they do an actual headline gig in KC, St. Louis or Springfield, Mo (none of which were headline gigs for AB3) I'll be a happy fanboy.

Re: Slash and AB's 2013 schedule
It does look like a bulk of the writing will take place now, in January, and recording in March, April and May. I know they intitially had in mind to have the album out in time for the Summer Europe festivals, however things doesn't look realistic at the moment.
Apart from European and American tours at the end of the year after the album gets released (September maybe?) I could imagine a world tour in early 2014, culminating with another trip to Europe for the festivals in mid 2014

Re: Slash and AB's 2013 schedule
I expect there will me more tourdates from Slash in Australia though.. Can't imagine they're going all the way over there for one show..
I think AB's first tour will start around October in Europe.

I guess we'll see the album come out in September in the UK and March 2014 in the USA.

Yea, exactly like 3 years ago I remember that the tour started a few days before the ABIII came out.. When did it came out in America?

Amazon UK sure hopes so.

Re: Slash and AB's 2013 schedule
It's fun to speculate, but I wouldn't be surprised if Slash grabs Myles for additional touring later in the year.
Out of all the AB-related bands (AB, Creed, Tremonti, and Slash), right now Slash seems to be the most lucrative. Not that Myles is solely drawn to the opportunity with the biggest paycheck, but Slash is doing really well right now. They are playing to big crowds, Myles gets to perform with a childhood hero, and the band has really been firing on all cylinders. Myles probably doesn't want to pass up on the opportunity of a lifetime, and I'm sure he shares my suspicion that if he abandoned Slash, Slash the workaholic would simply move on to another project or another singer.
That said, I know the AB guys (Myles included) are committed to their AB fan base, and are itching to rekindle the flame with a new album and tours. I'm sure they'll do everything they can to get this record released and hit the road.

Re: Slash and AB's 2013 schedule
Yeah I definitely can't blame Myles for taking this opportunity with Slash especially after the Creed reunion. But I was really wanting to see a Velvet Revolver reunion after Slash's band started taking off just to give him something else to do lol. He's been working Myles almost nonstop since 2010. Even when Alter Bridge had their big touring time in 2011, Slash still had Myles all throughout February and July. I have a feeling Myles will never "fully" have time with Alter Bridge as long as Slash is interested in his solo band.

I'm still waiting for a crazy AB fan to assassinate Slash

Re: Slash and AB's 2013 schedule
Hahaha.
You make a good point though, Andy. It's not as if Myles ditched Alter Bridge out of nowhere. He was already sidelined by the Creed reunion, which he was fine with since he was going to record his solo album.
Anyway, I digress. My hope is that we get some solid, quality AB time throughout 2013 and 2014. I'm fine if Slash and Creed work in a few tours here and there, as long as it doesn't mean that AB only does one quick tour in the US and Europe, and that's all we get for the AB IV cycle.

Exactly. It would be great to get some extensive touring.

Re: Slash and AB's 2013 schedule
My theory would be that AB IV will be coming out late in the year. With the Tremonti Tour virtually all of February there will probably be a halt on production, and they're in the very early stages of writing. And they'll hit the road for AB in early 2014. That's still very far away...

Re: Slash and AB's 2013 schedule
I thought I had seen somewhere that Slash wanted to get his next solo album out in 2014? I reckon AB will release the new album around September, tour the UK and Europe through until Christmas, some American dates early 2014, new Slash album in April 2014 and then AB at the festivals in 2014 with Slash touring late 2014 into 2015. Maybe anyway!
