It's definitely up there with Blackbird, it fulfils a completely different purpose though. Never cared overly for Words though, it was missing a mean solo.

You're going to compare a 4 minute rock anthem to those songs? They're not exactly similar. No one is gonna get pumped up at a sporting event listening to Words or Blackbird.

And I agree with Harry, it's pretty close to being their best song imo even though I'd put a couple others ahead of it.

And I'll be honest, the first time I heard Words I was so disappointed with the lack of a solo.

i think metalingus is one of ab's most important songs. not for me personally, but a good percentage of ab fans are wwe fans, and probably were introduced to the band by edge. they got a lot of recognition at the beginning thanks to that. i never liked wrestling, but always appreciated what edge meant to alter bridge

but in saying all that about metalingus............for baseball this year my walk out song was coming home, so im torn
