I wouldn't call it emotional, It has like a powerful 'melancholic' vibe, it's getting better with every listen btw :cheers

May or may not have vpn'ed to New Zealand in order to listen to it. Blackbirddd has the right of it, feels like some parts could have been extended in order to make for a perfect song, and I'd second describing it as "melancholic".

That said, the song is absolutely incredible and without a doubt my favourite single of the 5. The vocal melodies are just beautiful.

You have to open it in a browser - not iTunes directly

It did for me! Tunnelbear to NZ, search for Alter Bridge Dying Light into YouTube and sort by upload date. Should be one of the first results.

Well, it's like a mix of WDTTW and This Side of Fate a little bit, and the intro riff has some corky leads that you could find on Year of the Tiger. In general definitely more epic than the rest of the songs but I still need more times to digest it.

Yeah in terms of structure the comparison to This Side of Fate is appropriate. Took about 2 or 3 listens of Dying Light in order for it to click for me, and now that it has I honestly cannot stop listening. Fantastic song.

For sure hear the WDTTW in there. I think if it had Mark's backing vocals in the chorus, it'd sound huge. If they are there, they're really low in the mix.

Exactly! It was a great song first listen, but after digesting all the melodies over a few listens the chills and goosebumps came. Been waiting on that, the other singles weren't the right type of songs to give me that feeling.

"Alterbridge is fucking backkk "
This was the song everyone was searching for to get there hopes high on this album.
Honestly none of the songs hit me on the first listen.
It took me couple of listen to get over these songs.
But this song , " dying light " man if I keep it on repeat, it will be because I am absolutely blown away by this song .
Wow just wow, such a dark moody and amazing song
As some said here, this song could have easily been stretched to 8 mins with guitar drum bass solo
That would have been epic
But over all , I got my first top fav from the album.
Released here in India 12am

I had planned to skip this one till the whole album got released but who was I kidding! Pressed play as soon as I got the notification. I still need a few more listens to digest everything. Just loved the vocal melody on which the song ended. Oh boy am I glad to finally listen to the kind of music which made me a die-hard AB fan in the first place!

@LosingPatience - I have really high hopes for this song to finally get you excited about the album. :lol

All aboard the hype train! :rockon
