Awesome song. Light years better than Wouldn't You Rather! Absoletely love the synths!

Would it be worthwhile to have a thread dedicated to production talk? Just feel like sometimes when new music is released it's a dominant topic and it can distract from talk about the actual songs.

I like how the ending is lyrically pessimistic but musically open-ended. Neat trick. It just sort of evaporates. Doesn't need a heavy-handed ending.

This was the song I was wanting to hear from AB. It was different and fresh, and I really cannot understand why they keep making songs like Wouldn't You Rather singles or an introduction to a new album. Songs like that seem like token radio tracks. But yeah, Pay No Mind is awesome.

Yeah definitely not feeling this one. Talk about filler tracks. I liked would you rather out of the gate and like it even more now. The synths in this are cool but everything else is just meh. We’ll see if it’s a grower but I doubt it.

I totally get the need to try new things, but this just isn't it for me. I love when some bands use synth and atmosphere but it's not grabbing me here, and the overall song just feels so "sellable", like something needed for a single or an easy crowd pleaser at concerts. Pre-chorus and bridge are cool, but that's about it.

Thanks Elvis, you’ve done a great job sweetie.
Jesus Christ, good riddance. So sick of hearing the same shit. Just quit listening already and quit commenting about it. We get it, you think sound they sound terrible now.

It is a little better on youtube. Still not my cup of tea at all. However, dude, i liked WYR a lot and i REALLY dig this. Thus my production qualms. But yeah this is a very interesting route for AB to take imo and one they can do very well.

The bounciness of the song rhythmically is quite cool. Really can't think of one other song by them remotely close to this in style. Not one.

It's their first song that made me think that I'm losing my love for the band.

Firstly: I listened the official YouTube version and I've had a headache. The mix is just wrong. At this point I won't assume that it's a creative choice. Somebody is fucking it up on purpose.
Secondly: the song itself. There is nothing in it to catch attention. Synths are not adding to the whole picture, they are just there for the sake of it. Myles sounds like he is doing impressions of himself.

I don't think that I will ever listen to this song ever again and my hopes for the album dropped to the absolute minimum.

A lost soul
A willing hand
A scapegoat
The sacrificial lamb
It's so cold
A one way scam
That takes hold
So devious, the plan

In time
It will unravel and expose
Us for the fools we are

We pay no mind
We no pay no mind at all
We must be blind
When will this ever stop?

When the last man falls
Who’ll be the first to rise and call you out?
Who’ll be the first to draw the line?

Indifference a lasting curse
Resilience, your blessing in disguise
The millions you stand to hurt
Still willing to stand by your side

In time
It will unravel and expose
Us for the fools we are

We pay no mind
We no pay no mind at all
We must be blind
When will this ever stop?

When the last man falls
Who’ll be the first to rise and call you out?
Who’ll be the first to draw the line?

So entitled since the day that you were born
Still we hear you screaming give me more give more
So entitled since the day that you were born
Still we hear you screaming give me more give more

So ??? since the day that we were torn
You got a way with murder
We wont let you anymore

We pay no mind
We no pay no mind at all
We pay no mind
We no pay no mind at all
We must be blind
When will this ever stop?

When the last man falls
Who’ll be the first to rise and call you out?
Who’ll be the first to draw the line and walk?
And make you pay the price for what you are

But in the end we’ll pay no mind.

If you must know, Kev, I accidentally quoted it when I meant to just edit it hence the deletion and "double post" :/ :facepalm

Btw what in the feckin tom foolery is this? I'll be their ghost writer next time. I rhyme like I'm a paid professional.

I downloaded the song at work on my lunch break and couldn't really listen much.

I got home and listened to the official version a couple times through my good headphones. Like Wouldn't You Rather, it's a killer single! I still have a lot of hope for the rest of the album. The synth intro slapped me in the face! ("What is AB covering a Europe deep cut?!").

I love the bouncy 80s vibe to the "When the last. Man. Falls." section.

The riffs are crunchy and heavy!

Is it just me or does it sound like they took the intro synths and turned it into a lead guitar part? Or is it just the synth line pitched up? I like it, whatever it is. The intro reminds me of Rammstein but the riffs are all AB!

I wish Mark's backing vocals were a bit higher in the mix, but when I can hear them they sound great. Gets me excited to hear the co-lead vocal track!

I have a feeling Mark wrote this one.

Tom foolery should be used as a lyric.

I thought the synths were cool. Something about the chorus has a nice hook to it with how the guitar riff pacing is. I have a feeling when the whole album releases that this song will just kind of sit in the middle of the pack because it doesn’t have a huge vocal moment or guitar lead, but it’s definitely a catchy song that I really get into overall.
