Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
For what it's worth, most bands spend 2 or 3 days tops to record drums. Nothing unusual here at all.
Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
Yeah if Flip did, on average, several songs per day, that's pretty common for a professional rock drummer.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
The fact that it took him less than a week to record confirms one thing for sure: The fourteen songs on this album definitely does not eclipse 168 total hours in length.
Bummer.
EDIT: Wait a minute, silly me... they can always loop parts of his recordings. That means there's still a fighting chance!

If it comes out around Christmas, the jingle bells sound of the cymbals will be appropriate.SHEAKENBAKEN wrote:ELVIS IS THE PRODUCER AGAIN SO THE CYMBALS ARE GONNA BE TOO LOUD AND BLEED THROUGH THE REST IN THE MIX. Lets be real here even if we get another TLH that still had some amazing music is better than many bands put out now a days. I just think we're lucky to have a band like AB producing amazing music every 3 years

If we get another TLH, I'll consider that largely a disappointment.
Just like the overwhelming majority of that album.
Some of AB's least memorable tracks imo.

I wouldn't be opposed either, the album may not be a masterpiece but it is far better than what many bands put out.LosingPatience wrote:The Dissident wrote:Lets be real here even if we get another TLH that still had some amazing music is better than many bands put out now a days. Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
If they don’t do the heavy blackbird/AB3 vibe, I’m not interested.
Fortress was good. About as far as I wanted them to experiment. The last hero... couldn’t even name three songs off it. This is coming from someone who named their first son Myles with a Y........
Last hero was forgettable. Didn’t like the progressive vibe. Myles has that with slash. They rock the dark dreery deep sound.

Re: AB VI Studio/Recording Thread
Funny, you think the stuff Myles does with Slash is deemed progressive where I think they are more of a modern throwback to that 80s hard rock sound/Aerosmith influences that Slash really wears on his back. I think the Fortress album has just the right amount of going heavy/progressive/darker/moodier/intricate/other buzz words I'm missing that works for them. I would like to see them dial back on the heavy stuff, just a tad bit. Not necessarily water their sound down (and these guys are really good at what they do to not have to go that route), but vary their sound a little bit to make the more heavy stuff and the more softer stuff stand out and really have us appreciate those minor details a lot more which admittedly, The Last Hero have lacked a good amount of that for the most part due to the mix (still a great album and I still stand by it as my favorite album of 2016).

I support the idea of a Alter Bridge Christmas song.prowler5150 wrote:If it comes out around Christmas, the jingle bells sound of the cymbals will be appropriate.SHEAKENBAKEN wrote:ELVIS IS THE PRODUCER AGAIN SO THE CYMBALS ARE GONNA BE TOO LOUD AND BLEED THROUGH THE REST IN THE MIX. Yes!gbruin wrote:All we really need is some studio photo that has a blurry image of the white board in the background so we can go Ethan Hunt deciphering working titles and guessing what style of song each one is.

I barely even knew they started! AWESOME. I really hope they give us a comment on the overall feel of the new music soon.Jaredr24 wrote:Looks like they’re about done with bass

Come on, start building the hype!
Yeah, Brian's tracking has been kept pretty quiet. We could live with a few more pics and updates from the studio.WaywardOne wrote:I barely even knew they started! AWESOME.
