Just as good, if not better, than when I saw it in Spokane this past December: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJVazH48fQ4Crumbso wrote:Damn. He absolutely slayed that high note on WDTTW. It sounded good in the hall but I wondered how clean it would be on the recording.

Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall
I have legitimately never been more blown away by a preview than I have been with that one. This is going to be one hell of a special experience for me to finally watch this performance, I can only imagine what it must've been like to actually be there. Just watching that preview I feel like this band should be much bigger than they are. I know we have all said that for years but watching that preview I legitimately got a feeling of "how can people not see how amazing these guys are and appreciate them in the way that they deserve to be appreciated" when Myles hit that note in Words Darker Than Their Wings my jaw dropped, not because they gave it away in the preview but more so because he was actually able to do that, I'm sitting here going holy fuck, I really can't believe he did that, that is Summergirl territory for me and he recorded that song when he was in his 20s. That clip single-handedly solidified why he is the best singer in rock 'n' roll. I'm fuckin' blown away, I have never been more proud to be a fan of Alter Bridge and Myles, Mark, Brian & Scott.

Finally found a snippet of The Last Hero. After being at the second performance it was one of the songs I looked forward to hearing again most, and as remembered the orchestra just takes it to a whole other level https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5am2k7th1DM
Let this be an exercise in how to face your fears

My husband and I were at the second night too... It totally blew me away. Amazing to hear such great songs enhanced by brilliant orchestral arrangements.RevenantGB wrote:Finally found a snippet of The Last Hero. I don't think you'll get less than 5.1.alterswede wrote:THIS!richardsim7 wrote:Does anyone know what audio codec the Blu-Ray will have?

It seems he's really asking 16-bit vs. 24-bit, DTS vs. Dolby (for possible upconvert to Atmos vs. X), lossless, etc.
Re: Alter Bridge - Live At The Royal Albert Hall
Does anyone know if there is a downloadable version of the RAH video coming? I simply don't have a player for any of the physical media (dvd/bluray). Thought I read something about it, but don't see any mention of it at the pre-orders.

Nope. Not spoiling it. Video or nothing.

Fully expect the video to be out tomorrow morning like Addicted to Pain. Stoked!AB4Lyfe wrote:Nope. Not spoiling it. Video or nothing.

I listened till Mark finished his first vocal part, just to get a tease of "this sounds damn good!"
And it does... it does.
And it does... it does.

How audible is the orchestra in this one compared to the Addicted to Pain recording?

^^ I think it's much better here than Addicted to Pain. It fit well with the "epic" vibe of the song.

This is what they're the best at, and the orchestra is just a perfect fit. I really, really hope they were inspired by this performance.
The crowd applauding the high note is so beautiful.
