Alter Bridge Fall Tour 2017 (South America and Europe)
All right, I think it's time for us to create a new thread about the upcoming shows. Starting next week, begins arguably the most important period that AB is going to have in the album cycle. They are going to do five shows in South America. Two headlining shows, one co-headliner with the Cult, and two festivals, one of them being Rock in Rio, the big one that probably going to get a live stream. Hopefully, the crowds there welcome them and gives a great reaction that convinces the promoters that this is a band that's worth coming back to South America in the future.
Then after a 10 day period in between, begins probably the most important shows in the album period. Royal Albert Hall in London with an orchestra. Easier to get hyped about that. From a recent interview from Brian, I'm reading that they are really thinking deeply about how they want to present this show in terms of wardrobe, stage, and most importantly, setlist. Hope they knock out all expectations. Then comes, the final Europe Tour for The Last Hero album. Whose hyped? I would be more hyped than I already am if they announce a US tour and include Anaheim, but that will have to wait.
Here is the upcoming schedule.

Re: Alter Bridge Fall Tour 2017 (South America and Europe)
All right, updates. So, today is the first show of the South America leg. Is in Argentina. I hope it goes well.
Another update, so I heard word that As Lions (this band that has Bruce Dickinson's son as the frontman) is supporting them for the UK/Europe tour minus the Royal Albert Hall shows. I heard their debut album. It was all right. Don't expect Bruce Dickinson-like singing though. More like a modern metalcore vocals.
However, interesting note. Shinedown had As Lions as a support band in the states earlier this year, I think, and then Iron Maiden had Shinedown as support for their Europe tour this year. Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if AB is support to Iron Maiden in the bigger arenas in Europe if Iron Maiden chose to tour in either 2018 or 2019.

Excited for the vids from this tour! Are they playing Rock In Rio? If so, will it be streamed?

They are playing Rock in Rio, next Friday. The last couple of Rock in Rios have been streamed. I don't see any reason why this one should not be streamed.

All right, here's the set of their first of two shows in Argentina. The second show will be tomorrow. It's an ok start.
Come to Life
Farther Than the Sun
Addicted to Pain
Ghost of Days Gone By
Cry of Achilles
Lover
My Champion
Ties That Bind
Crows on a Wire
Broken Wings
Waters Rising
Watch Over You
Isolation
Blackbird
Open Your Eyes
Metalingus
This Side of Fate
Show Me a Leader
Rise Today
https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/alter-br ... 22b1b.html
Interesting that they brought Lover and This Side of Fate on such a short leg where 2 out of the 5 shows are legit headlining shows....... Maybe they may actually play those at the Royal Albert Hall shows. The rest are the usual staples as one may expect from them.

Re: Alter Bridge Fall Tour 2017 (South America and Europe)
I don't expect them to change it up too much on this leg, but good to see a couple of deep(er) cuts on the first show!

Re: Alter Bridge Fall Tour 2017 (South America and Europe)
I'm coming to the Rock in Rio show next friday.
It'll be interesting since they'll be playing with Tears For Fears and Bon Jovi on the main stage. I'd rather them with metal bands but I'm happy I'll get to see Alter Bridge for the first time in that big festival.
It gets a lot of exposure over the country and it will be streamed on the cable tv and also on the internet.
Since I'll be in Rio de Janeiro, I will also attend the next two days of the festival.
22/09 - Alter Bridge, Tears For Fears and Bon Jovi
23/09 Incubus, The Who and Guns n' Roses
24/09 Sepultura, Offspring, 30 Seconds to Mars and RHCP.
Not bad!

Re: Alter Bridge Fall Tour 2017 (South America and Europe)
On a side not, does Mark really think that his clean tone doesn't miss on some songs?
Re: Alter Bridge Fall Tour 2017 (South America and Europe)
This time it sounds pretty decent. But in general, yea. I don't get how Mark gives up some of his qualities (his amazimg clean tone) for the sake of convenience. Blackbird for example sounds pretty bad with his turned-down distortion channel. Might work for his solo project, but not for AB.
Re: Alter Bridge Fall Tour 2017 (South America and Europe)
Tears For fucking Fears, bad version of Depeche Mode with 2 hits in the '80s playing the same slot as The Who and 30 Seconds to MarsGeorgeBR wrote:I'm coming to the Rock in Rio show next friday.

Re: Alter Bridge Fall Tour 2017 (South America and Europe)
^^ I've been trying to figure that out myself. I don't know if AB deserves the main support slot of Rock in Rio in their first South America tour, but surely there have got to be bigger bands (and more well-known nowadays) to support Bon Jovi than Tears for Fears?

All right, night two in Argentina.
Slip to the Void
Addicted to Pain
Come to Life
Ghost of Days Gone By
Cry of Achilles
The End Is Here
My Champion
Ties That Bind
Crows on a Wire
Waters Rising
Wonderful Life
Watch Over You
Isolation
Blackbird
Open Your Eyes
Metalingus
The Last Hero
Show Me a Leader
Dueling Guitar Solos – Mark and Myles
Rise Today
https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/alter-br ... 21a8a.html
If this is true, I did not actually expect this many song changes from them. Slip to the Void as the opener, Wonderful Life is back in, The End is Here was surprisingly played, and The Last Hero started the encore section.

Although that setlist isn't entirely accurate (they played The Writing On The Wall at some point, thanks FB live), the balance of this set was pretty damn good...

Re: Alter Bridge Fall Tour 2017 (South America and Europe)
Honestly this is imo one of the most perfect sets I've seen from them, Only songs i wish were there are Broken Wings and Words Darker.... Which the latter never is played so it isn't really a realistic requestanguyen92 wrote:All right, night two in Argentina.

Yeah that is a killer setlist!
By the way, did anyone see this?

Pretty awesome! So glad South America is finally getting to experience Alter Bridge.

Re: Alter Bridge Fall Tour 2017 (South America and Europe)
I'm so freaking excited that they put TLH back into the set. That might be the perfect slot for it too. Slip to the Void and The End is Here is going to kill with a string accompaniment.
Re: Alter Bridge Fall Tour 2017 (South America and Europe)
What exactly did the crowd thank for? For AB coming to South America? The band should rather get some signs with "Sorry for the long wait" on it. Kappa

All right, then. The set from the first show in Brazil in the city of Curitiba. Not as lengthy as the shows in Argentina, sadly, since they were playing before The Cult. They somehow manage to retain Lover in the set.
