Dodgy snare hit on Brand New Start.
Seriously, WTF is that https://youtu.be/6Z6hOf7QlIA?t=4m19s, and how can so many people not hear it??? I notice it every time I listen now and it is really starting to bug me. I vaguely remember it being discussed here, but can't find the topic and can't remember what actually caused the awful sound. It sounds like it really peaks out.

I know the band has mentioned in the past that Flips hits pretty hard. Just sounds like an extra hard hit to me. Or are you talking about the roll just before it?The Plotblocker wrote:Seriously, WTF is that https://youtu.be/6Z6hOf7QlIA?t=4m19s, and how can so many people not hear it??? Are we talking about the roll? I don't think it's a mistake. A lot of drummers do that. I would, if I was one lol.

What's dodgy about that? Sounds fine to me.

Yeah if we're talking about the roll, that's just an awesome fill that Flip does. To each their own I guess, but I always liked that part.

Yeah, I mean, even listening to it now and trying to hear something dodgy, I hear nothing out of place. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It reminds me of a fill on Torn from My Own Prison.

It sounds like you're saying it's a mixing issue...? Because as a drummer, I can say nothing about Flip's playing is dodgy. Drummers don't often get better with each subsequent album, but he does. Easily my biggest influence.

Sounds fine to me. If we want to talk about it though, there is a little drum fill he does in "Home" thats always sounded weird to me. It's at 1:27.
Re: Dodgy snare hit on Brand New Start.
Speaking of drum fills: There was one song where Scott kinda failed to do a drumroll. Don't know which one tho.
