It kills me that they don't play Poison every night. It screams crowd energy.

Was just thinking this after the show in Philly last night! Poison is easily the biggest arena rock type song they've ever done.

Needs more ODR and less BB. Otherwise, that's a pretty good "Greatest Hits" with focus on TLH.

It is what it is with there setlist. They have there staple songs and switch out every night. Would I like them to experiment with rare songs? YESSS. But I guess thats why they call it rare.

I'll state it before and I'll state it again. What I really like them to do is do away with the opening bands, at least for the shows in the states, and play longer sets so that they can fit the staple songs and fit in deeper cuts.

I'm not a big concert-goer. There are really only a handful of bands I'll pay to see live. AB obviously among them as I have tix/M&G for them next week. But is that something any band does? Even the big ones. Not have an opener. Isn't that just a tool they use to gauge the audience? Not that they wouldn't play depending.

Some bands do it, some don't. It's basically depends on what sort of audience they want. If the bands wants a more casual rock fans, looking to head on a night out, then they would have opening bands. That sort of format, the "An Evening with" with no openers typically attracts an audience that basically knows all of the band's stuff and is not really too picky on what should be played or not.

Rush had been doing the no opening band format for roughly 20 years and they were still filling arenas, playing close to 3 hours long. Same goes with Pearl Jam as well. Heck, even Halestorm and Black Stone Cherry (AB's contemporaries) was dabbling with that sort of format for a couple of their shows.

I just personally feel that AB has attracted a dedicated enough fanbase in the states and have a large enough catalog where all kinds of AB fans have their different picks on what deep tracks they want to hear where they should be doing that format here. I don't know if that format for AB would do well in arenas in the UK/Europe, but they should still be able to have around 3-5,000 people going primarily for them anywhere in Europe.

Agreed. Though I think sadly they have a better chance of "filling" an arena/stadium/what have you in Europe than their own native land. Which sucks. I've been campaigning hard among my friends here more so than I have in previous years. To no avail...

If they have attracted a big enough audience in the states to do that kind of show, then they definitely should do one in the UK (and I guess Europe too lol). They have been bigger over here for longer.

^^ Sure, they should do that sort of show in the UK. I would be for it. BSC did that last fall and I heard it went well. The question is can they fill the UK arenas with no openers and a longer set? I do think they can fill Manchester Apollo and Hammersmith Ballroom no problem on the backs of their own name and catalog. People do have doubts though whether they can do arenas without needing a big name value support band.

I just do not agree with that tbh. Especially if they only did a few shows. Say 2 in England, and then 1 each in Wales, Ireland and Scotland. That would all but guarantee large AB crowds.

I'm still waiting on Losing Patience, really wanted to hear what that sounds like when you strip away the over-production.
