I'd never expect Coming Home to sound good acoustically, but Myles killed it. A song like that has to be reimagined in an acoustic setting. SMAL is terrible and Myles sounds awful trying to pull it off.

Yeah some of the heavier songs actually work well on acoustic. Like, Find The Real for example. But I have to agree that SMAL did not work at all.

It's hard to believe they've never released an acoustic album yet.

I would also love them to write songs on acoustic guitars in the future, even if they actually record them later with distorted guitars. Writing this way compells you to write actual songs instead of parts, and this would be a nice challenge for them.
Well not all songs are nice on acoustics imo... I remember them doing Addicted to Pain for Fortress and for TLH they played SMAL on acoustics for (radio) promotion and I don't think it sounds good haha... Those songs, especially ATP, are meant for loud guitars.

YES! This acoustic version of Wayward One has always been a favorite of mine. And I agree with you fix, the ATP and SMAL acoustic versions just don't translate well. I'm all for acoustic renditions, but only if they make sense and not as a cheap ploy to market a new single.

Shout out to Ubik for bringing up All Hope Is Gone - I feel like that one is less well known but it's fantastic.
