What is your favorite Alter Bridge album?

Yes, but this time we got a poll!

It's ABIII for me, without a shadow of a doubt. It's not the album with the overall best Alter Bridge song (Blackbird), the highest amount of "epics" (The Last Hero has one more) or the highest amount of real standout tracks (Fortress). But it's the one with the greatest overall atmosphere, with an album concept that is nearly perfect, and with a trademark harmony that exactly fits my musical taste. There's really only one weak song on ABIII (Breathe Again), compared to 3.5 on Fortress and 4 on The Last Hero, it features two of the best tracks AB have ever written (Words and Show Me A Sign), the best album opener of all time and a barrage of more than amazing songs.

Perfect album.

Fortress, easily

Followed by ODR pretty far behind those two

Lastly, The Last Hero. Although it has grown on me some the past few weeks, may end up climbing my list in the future

I think TLH is going to end up being a grower, as Mark predicted. The biggest thing for me is hearing those songs live.

I'm going to vote for what I think is the best overall album but not necessarily the one I would say is my favorite. I really do truly love them all. The Last Hero right now has my new favorite song supplanting Burn It Down which had occupied that spot for more than a decade. And even still, I'm not 100% sure about that but to say it's in the running even after songs like Blackbird, Brand New Start, Fortress, CoA, Show Me A Sign, Bleed It Dry is a testament to just how amazingly awesome the song is. I think top to bottom ABIII is the most solid, Blackbird the one packed with the most hits (possibly only because they are so committed to it live), and ODR the most sentimental therefore probably my favorite. But Fortress is, to me, where they really grew and entered undoubtedly prog territory. Every song on the album is as strong as the prior and the one to come. And to finish with Fortress was a great decision as it was representative of what the band had been growing to to that point. The Last Hero was the next logical progression for the band to take and whether you like it or not, I love when a band isn't afraid to experiment and they did with TLH. I just don't love when they're afraid to really promote it in their supposed album tour...

Having said all that, they each hold a place very close to my heart and picking one above another is like splitting hairs. They're my favorite band hands down for a reason. They continue to make great music and I don't know that I'll ever be disappointed in anything they do......unless they don't play TLH(song) live when I see them in February.

Guessing a lot of regular posters haven't voted yet, looking at where ODR is currently

Voted for Blackbird. Fortress is my 2nd favorite. It's really good, but it doesn't have a track that tops Blackbird itself. And I think Cry A River, All Ends Well, Peace Is Broken, and Farther Than The Sun are all just okay.

Have to go with Blackbird, as good as Fortress is, Blackbird is just perfect in every way to me. Even with Fortress I find myself not feeling a song here and there and skipping it. The only song I maybe do that with on Blackbird is Break Me Down, but I still like the song. Combine how fantastic it is with all the nostalgia the record brings me, I don't think any other album will ever top it for me, might always be my absolute favorite album, period.

Fortress easily for me.

The probably Blackbird, ODR, and AB III and TLH tied for forth.

I have been a fan since day one. I just feel like as a whole, the songs on Fortress are stronger.
