Battle Of The Track Numbers: Track 01

Seems like the Battle Of The Track Numbers was already up by this time when Fortress got released. Jim has already stated that he would reissue it at some point, but I'm so curious about how TABN will compose the "Best Of" (kinda) album this time that I decided to start the first thread in case Jim is too busy at the moment or doesn't feel like doing it for any other reason. If you admins or mods aren't fine with that, just close the thread, I'll understand.

As long as I'll be running this (until the end, if I'm allowed to), polls will be open for three days. I don't know if I can close them after their creation, so setting the number of days they run for beforehand seems like the safer option to me. Three days should be enough to give everyone a fair chance to vote.

Gee, what a tough start! Close call between Find The Real and Cry of Achilles. Whereas I think CoA is the "better" song I just had to go with Real. Dat riff.

Openers are always so hard. When it comes to opening an album, I think Slip To The Void does the best job. My favorite song of the four is Ties That Bind though. Achilles follows very closely.

I have to go with Ties That Bind, even though Achilles comes very close. Show Me A Leader and Slip to the Void do a great job as openers as well. Find the Real is an excellent song, but never really hit me as being a great "opener". Still, overall this is going to be a very difficult decision as they're all great songs.

It's Cry of Achilles and probably will always be Cry of Achilles.

Argh, so tough to choose. Cry of Achilles really wants that top spot for me, but it has to be Find The Real. That song is just so awesome, great riff, superb vocals and so uplifting. Always gets me going as soon as it drops. Plus, you know Old Myles vocals > new Myles vocals.

Holy shit, you're so right. Totally missed One Day Remains. Silly me. It's updated now.

By the way, I agree with some of you guys that Slip is probably the best album opener out of the 5 songs. That said, COA is such an amazing track that I would never vote against it.

Cry of Achilles in a landslide. Their second best song behind Blackbird.

I don't think any song has ever instantly blown my mind as quickly and as much as Find the Real did, so I had to give it my vote. In less than 5 minutes Alter Bridge convinced me to start singing and playing guitar with that song, so it'll always have a crazy sentimental value to me.

Went with Ties That Bind 'cause that was my first AB song... otherwise it would have been Slip.
