2017 U.S. headline tour...........
Re: 2017 U.S. headline tour...........
I guess it's because of a Download festival. There's no reason to remove it in any other case

Re: 2017 U.S. headline tour...........
Honestly, if it is because they are playing Download, that the announcement is being held back, I think it is a little stupid to not announce upcoming shows in London in the fall because they are in the country soon for a festival.
I mean it's not like people already going to Download are going to think, "AB is playing in London in the fall? No need to pay to see them at Download."

Re: 2017 U.S. headline tour...........
Korn just cancelled Pointfest in St Louis. Jonathan Davis has major voice issues right now. They are offering refunds, but this guy is totally happy. AB moves up from 3rd to 2nd billing. Hope they get an hour plus now.

Makes me wonder about Korn at ROTR. They had already canceled all of their non-festival dates for the month. Interested to see if they stay on the bill at ROTR or not.

55 minute set at Pointfest. Almost no talking between songs, which I love because Myles usually makes a fool of himself.
Paddy (intro)
Come to Life
Farther than the Sun
Addicted to Pain
Ghost
Cry of Achilles
Metalingus
Ties
Isolation
Show me a leader
Guitar Duel (brief)

The AB Facebook had a post today asking fans what songs they wanted to hear on the upcoming tour, and listed about 8-9 songs, INCLUDING WORDS DARKER THAN THEIR WINGS, AND IT HAS THE MOST UPVOTES BY FAR!!!

They played WDTTW at Wembley 2011 in an alternate universe, and that universe imploded, so let's be careful here.

Re: 2017 U.S. headline tour...........
Forgot to post that I saw AB again last week in Stroudsburg and thoroughly enjoyed it of course. Was quite delighted that they pulled out BNS! (Can't believe I'm saying that since it used to be such a staple.) Also enjoyed hearing IOF again, especially at this place which had great sound.
Now that I mention it, I liked the venue a lot. I half expected a run-down shithole in some rundown town but it was very well configured. The floor sloped towards the stage like the TLA in Philly—I'm guessing it used to be a cinema–so virtually everyone had a good view. The back two corners had rows of seats for folks who wanted a more leisurely experience. Next to the stage were two pairs of balconies fit for an opera, which I think can be booked for a premium. And as mentioned, the sound was great.
I will say Myles seemed somewhat unenthused during the first few tracks, but eventually appeared to have a good time. Perhaps that's a byproduct of playing the same 3 songs at the start of every show. Despite the lack of variety, I do like that trio of openers – nice and heavy to get the crowd going.
I really, really like In Flames too. Going to give them more eartime.

Yeah. I like those 3 songs opening up. Full on barrage of riffage.

Re: 2017 U.S. headline tour...........
Looking at their tour dates, looks like their August is filled with doing outdoor county fairs. Most of them are them headlining. There is actually one show in Jackson, Mississippi where they are playing with Stone Sour and Skillet. In fact, there's another outdoor show on May 19th in Peoria, IL where AB and Skillet are co-headlining the show with Starset supporting.
If there is one thing that I want them to do, aside from them going to do "An Evening With" long shows, no opening act shows, it's them doing a tour with a band with the size and credibility of Stone Sour, Skillet, Sixx: A.M., etc. I think it would be a decent way to play in front of larger crowds in the states (not ampitheater-sized crowds though. Around maybe 3-5k people a show) and play about an hour+ a show.
Still hoping for Anaheim though. They have yet to hit Spokane so I got that going for me in hoping they may end up in the West Coast again this year.
