Part of the reason I like Myles' solos on TLH more than Mark's is tone. IMO, MK has a better lead sound on this record than MT. It's a little thicker with a little more body and depth. Obviously that's just one aspect, but an important one for me.

Totally agree. Been in love with Myles's tone since that Blackbird solo.

My fav solo I think is Mark's solo in TLH. Idk why, and I can see it getting some hate, but the part from 5:55-6:07 ish is probably my favorite pure instrumental on the entire album. I think that part I just mentioned is the absolute perfect, epic ending to this album. Despite what many (including myself) think of the album, when you spend 70 minutes of your time invested in one album, that part just caps it off so well. It kind of sounds like something that would play at the end of a movie when a hero is saving the world and the powerless civilians are just looking up into the sky in awe, watching their hero do what he does best in times of turmoil.

Both of Myles' solos in the title track (first solo and the outro lick) are, to me, the best on the record.

Myles solos on this album but guys Mark's solos on Fortress were badass,Bleed it dry,the outro to Coa is perfect,Waters Rising is also ace,the dual back to back solo from Myles and Mark on Farther than the sun is also highly underrated

The outro for the The Last Hero is Mark
No it's not. From 6:10- end of the song, the main guitar is Myles.

That one tiny run before they go into 'have we reached the end?'

I'm sure he was referring to everything from 5:44 onwards

I certainly prefer Myles' lead tone on Fortress and The Last Hero. To be honest though, his tone before that was pretty average.

I love Myles solos on the two epics but I'm still on board the Tremonti train when it comes to solos. His work on Island of Fools is fucking epic.

I just think it's awesome that AB has two really phenomenal guitarists that complement each other so well with their styles. Top notch solos all throughout this album.

Yup, at the end of the day, they are both great players, but more importantly, they play great together.

Oh, definitely. Mark is a brilliant guitarist, there's no denying that.

Mark's a bit like a firecracker, sparks flying everywhere. Myles is more like a welding torch, precise and focused. Either way, your face is getting melted.

I'm quite glad that everyone else notices these things too, Myles is my ultimate favourite guitarist. Big fan of that kid

Is that a Myles solo in Symphony too?

^ Nah, that's Marks favourite solo, and his favourite of the record.

Haha this is so true. Can't get enough of Myles' solo's on this record. Such a highlight in TSOF especially.
