Always love hearing from Brian. "Do the next right thing." - that's a good motto right there :)

So cool to read an extended interview with Brian. I really enjoy his insight and his outlook on the band and life. It's so great to see him doing so well. :rockon

"and then on the other side of that were tens of thousands of fans. actually, it was a terrible, terrible day because the ground iced up where the crowd was standing and people ended up getting killed, although we didn’t find out about it until the next day."

Myles also has a two page interview in the current issue if Guitar World. I get it every month. They have had 2 pages in the last two months.

The cover of that Kerrang magazine looks like it's marketed to 10 year olds! It's kind of making me feel sick! Why does everything have an exclamation point! Ugh!

To be fair, it was a Green Day special.

Hope Mark's next Tremonti album is called Stella and the Abomination.

Yeah we've known for a while Myles was considering what to do then we knew a few months ago he gave up on it. Kinda sad really and it makes it a bit more odd to hear he just plopped out 25 more that we'll probably only get to hear maybe half of.

Also exciting to hear they will likely start playing stuff they haven't before to prepare for the orchestra show.

If we're lucky! I remember when he finally finished recording the last one thinking that there was nothing major left to delay it and we'd get it before long. Ah, optimism, you pointless state of being.

Thanks, Torsten.

I didn't realize Myles bagged his first solo album. Damn. So gutted about that.

Who do I have to talk to to make sure he doesn't do that with his second one?

yes.. it will never be released, as the songs are "old" and i guess he is unhappy about them by now.. i guess Alter Bridge would never release another One Day Remains, as the creators have changed since writing those.. same goes for the songs he wrote a decade ago... Good news is the "second" album is most likely going to be released :peace

Yeah maybe I'm late to the party on this one but I'm surprised he scrapped it after going back into the studio to finish recording the vocals so recently. Even if the songs are no longer relevant or reflective of his current creative direction, I feel like they would still hold artistic weight, if for no other reason than to capture a moment in time... much like releasing the ODR b-sides 13 years after they were recorded. Who knows, maybe he'll keep them in the vault and release them in a decade.

Regardless, glad to hear he hasn't completely given up on the solo album idea, and excited to hear whatever he releases!

If he doesn't feel comfortable with these songs anymore, I respect his artistic decision. But as a fan, it really sucks. I was really looking forward to an album which was written before he got in this busy schedule with an album coming out every year.

Blues, Nick Drake and the personal theme sounds great though. I'm sure I'll love the second solo album as well.

I saw a snippet of a Flip interview from Ultimate-Guitar talking about what's to come after The Last Hero cycle.
"We're sort of getting there. We'll finish up this album cycle probably in December of this year.

"I know Mark [Tremonti] is working on new Tremonti stuff. Myles [Kennedy] is working on a solo project, which he's been working on for a long period of time, but it should see the light of day pretty soon.

"Within those writing processes that Mark and Myles are going through, there will probably be a plethora of Alter Bridge songs that are written at the same time.

"I think the plan is probably to get together in September, October, November of next year and start putting those ideas together with the four of us and probably get some new music out, I would say in probably early 2019, I think is the plan.

"But yeah, there's always, between the two of those guys, there's constant writing. I'm excited for the next chapter.

At least, I'm glad they are thinking about trying to get something out at earlier in the year when the album is out rather than the usual late September/October of the year that their albums have been coming out.
