In Germany The Last Hero landed on #4 of the Mid-Week Charts. As the name says, they are not the final charts, but I guess they will take place on a similar place in the official charts. Right now there is no site that has the updated week charts even though they were supposed to be released already.
The best chart position was #7 with Fortress. ODR and Blackbird did surprisingly bad in Germany back then (#61 and #55). ABIII was their first "success" with #18. Really surprising that the numbers were that bad, I always thought Germany was one of the more succesfull places for AB.
Well, long story short, The Last Hero probably will be the most successful AB album in Germany.

Apparently, #2's UK top charting album is Barry Gibb's In the Now. I didn't think a member of the Bee Gees was still popular/relevant today.

That overtake only happened in the last 36 hours or so, based on the predictions

Well, it's official.
Alter Bridge debuts at n°4 on the Billboard 200 with 29.000 copies sold in its first week.
It's a new career high.

Well, that's pretty good actually. AB III had 29K copies in first week, Fortress had 30k copies. Despite a huge leakage a few weeks prior to the release, The Last Hero managed to score 29k copies and a top 5 on the Billboard 200, something they hadn't done since ODR.

It does reflect the decline of album sales of the industry, though, where you just need only about 30k copies to score a top 5 on the Billboard 200, these days. Heck, look at Green Day. Hadn't released an album in four years, the album itself is fairly competent and inoffensive (albeit blandish), and yet they only sold 89k copies and this is a band that can sell arenas by themselves.

That's actually pretty awesome for 2016 when almost no one buys albums. I hope they make all the cash. All of it. So they keep giving us the sweet, sweet nectar of their records.

Impressed with the chart ranking, but I might be even more impressed that this album sold around the same as Fortress even after such an early leak.

Hang on a second, I'm looking at two different charts from Hits Daily Double. I see one with Sales Plus Streaming Chart and Building Album Sales charts. Which one counts for the Billboard 200? The one with Plus Streaming has AB had #7, yet the other chart has it at #4. Which one counts?

That's three pretty huge artists in front of them, so it's an impressive debut.

Man, I hate Green Day, though.
Another photobucket casualty... :(

Unfortunately, the one that officially counts is the one with added streaming.

-sigh- fucking Drake...

Still, 7 isn't bad. Didn't Fortress debut in the teens?

Didn't Creed used to sell a million on a chart like that?
