How much do you like "Show Me a Leader"

I know it's radio edit, but the main part is there.
how much are we liking this 1st single?

I'd like to get an overview of TABN on this

I went with 8. It's growing on me with more listens. The chorus is stuck in my head, it's catchy. I like the fact Myles starts with a 1:30 solo and Mark ends it with a 1:30 solo. Pretty neat idea, especially since their styles are different.

I would have picked a different lead single and marked my sheet as such at the listening party though.

At the end of the day I'm just happy to have Alter Bridge back!

Got an 8 from me, too. 10 is reserved for masterpieces like Blackbird, Words and Show Me A Sign (I love it that much), 9 is for songs that are really close to perfect, such as Lover or Waters Rising, so 8 means it's a damn great song that I really enjoy.

I was undecided between 7 and 8, but this is definitely a grower, so I went with 8. Loving the full version, I have been listening to it a lot since last afternoon.

Solid 8 for me. Now the full version is out the radio edit is redundant to me. I think I'm one of the few that never heard the CoA edit either...and that's not about to change!

I'd give it 7.5 if I could. I like it a lot and I think it's an amazing opener, but 8 really is too much. If the lyrics were a bit more unique, the song had a better solo and the song was mixed better I'd given it an 8.

So a 7 it is, which is still pretty high in my voting system.

I'm giving it an 8 as well. That's based on the question "how much do you like it?" Not how does it compare to other music, other rock songs, other AB tracks, etc.

The chorus is surprisingly catchy, to the point where it keeps repeating in my head. The intro is bombastic and awesome. The solos are shining examples of Myles's and Mark's capabilities. The pause in the chorus gives the song a unique flavor. And overall the song flows really well.

The only things keeping it from being a 10 are the bridge (which is too similar to the rest of the song and generally unremarkable) and the overuse of overdubbed harmonies throughout the recording.

Great intro, love how much Myles there is in that intro. The no-ohs in the chorus are somewhat annoying after a while, but I tune it out sometimes

. Marks solo is great but could have been more creative than just super fast shredding.

Lyrics: 9/10 - Don't really care what he sings about but I took a point off for the no-ohs
Instruments: 7/10 Love the instruments, but the song could have benefited from some cut and paste riffs, IMO.
Vocals: 8/10 - Could have just a bit more Mark in there.

Overall: 24/30 (8/10)

Before Myles started singing I was like "woah, this is at least 9/10 song". Kill me but Myles really does sound whiney this time.

Yes there seems to be a lot of Myles harmonizing with Myles on this song. Live they might have Mark do it or not do it at all.
