Awesome video quality in that latest one (and landscape too!). The audio is quite overloaded from being so close but I just synced up the other video and used that one for sound :lol. I love the little grin/cringe (gringe?) that Myles makes at the end. Like "welp, that went about as well as it could have."

I thought it went very well!
Definitely looks like a 7-string in the latest video. I'm seeing 4 tuning pegs on the top edge of the headstock.

C. No Rise Today?

Can anyone confirm the set?
They did not play Bleed It Dry. They played Isolation before Waters Rising

EDIT: the last video of SMAL posted features the top of my head for the entirety of the video xD

Why the playback track for the intro? Could they not just play it live?

----Great live song tho.

Wasn't really a fan of SMAL when I first heard it and after this performance... still not a fan.
It gets more 'meh' every time I listen to it, and the live awkwardness isn't helping. Mark should probably do some backing vocals to help Myles out.

I thought that was quite an awkward performance too. I figured Mark would help him out a lot more with backing vocals. The "No's" and the lines in between them are cringeworthy as Myles desperately tries make it sound as close to the album as possible.

That's one of the reasons why I don't like silly things like that in albums. If it sounds artificial on the recording, its most likely going to sound even worse live.

Who'd have thought. Yet another overly big Alter Bridge song that requires a Maiden sized band to pull it off live.

They do this with every album. For whatever reason, their songs don't come off half as good live.

Well, the performance of SMAL was pretty neat imo.

I thought it sounded alright. Better than Isolation ever sounded when they first started playing it.

Iron Maiden sized band... I agree the connection between the No's and the other lyrics were a bit awkward the first time, but after that Myles made clear the crowd was supposed to sing the no's. Should be a great live moment when people get to know the song better (and they play for decent non US crowds). For the rest Myles skips a few overdubs. Big deal. Instrumentally it was pretty tight, especially for the first time live.

Probably because there's too much going on for it to come across sounding good. The same reason that Metallica doesn't play the intro to Battery live. It requires like 5 guitar players.

I agree with you there, Tim. Once they start playing it more it should evolve into a nice live song.

Seems awfully short if they were the headliner. They played 17 songs as the headliner in Portland. Not sure why they'd cut so many for Idaho.
EDIT: I see they weren't the headliner.

Should have cut Come to Life in favor of SMAL :mope

They weren't the headliner though. Breaking Benjamin was, although both bands only got one hour. This was the schedule according to the radio station that sponsored this event.

Show Schedule
Doors open 3:00
Stitched Up Heart 4:00-4:25pm
Shaman's Harvest 4:45-5:15pm
Avatar 5:35-6:15pm
Saint Asonia 6:45-7:35pm
Alter Bridge 8:00-9:00pm
Breaking Benjamin 9:30-10:30pm

With that said, they could have easily fit Show Me A Leader in replacement of White Knuckles or Ties That Bind. Not much as I can say about that other than we, the fans, just got to keep encouraging them more to play it.

Oh. Is there more than 2 guitars in the intro of SMAL? I never really noticed.
