Official "The Last Hero" Thread (pre-release discussion)
Re: Official "The Last Hero" Thread
Looking forward to listening to Island of Fools myself, track 12's always a good 'un. LP folk say it's heavy as feck.
For all of the hope that it brings...

Heavy as feck sounds good... Add that one to my list haha!

Well, from the LP, Crows On A Wire was a fav. I remember I didn't care much for The Last Hero the song. I don't remember a whole hell of a lot, so I just want to hear it all
Photobucket cash grab.

Last of Our Kind, Island Of Fools, Cradle To The Grave, The Other Side, This Side Of Fate, and The Last Hero.fix wrote:^ yeey! Do people have songs they look forward to most?
Because they're all the longer songs on the album.
Re: Official "The Last Hero" Thread
As far as I remember from the previews, I liked Cradle, Crows and Island of Fools... so those are the ones I'm looking forward to. People say This Side of Fate is good but I don't remember the preview so I don't know.

How can a 6:47 Alter Bridge song not be good?Lotha wrote:People say This Side of Fate is good but I don't remember the preview so I don't know.
Re: Official "The Last Hero" Thread
Well, if they'd lengthened out Breathe Again another couple of minutes it still wouldn't have done much to save it
The boyos do seem to be good at recognising when something deserves it, though.

Out of the 15 tracks, how many do you think are going to ultimately end in your playlist after you've removed the ones you skip every time?

Re: Official "The Last Hero" Thread
I really want to hear The Last Hero, The Other Side, This Side of Fate, and Twilight. I'm also REALLY hyped to listen to the Best Buy bonus track Breathe from ODR. Does anyone know if it's a re-recorded version or is it from ODR era?

Probably about 7 or 8 indeed. Usually the more heavy or musically interesting songs that I like to play as well.SamarthJoshi wrote:Out of the 15 tracks, how many do you think are going to ultimately end in your playlist after you've removed the ones you skip every time?

Re: Official "The Last Hero" Thread
From previews I remember liking The other side, Cradle, island, crows, and The last hero. From what I remember Crows has an Isolation feel but less radio friendly. Island is probably their heaviest song yet, has some brutal riffs.
EDIT- yes, I have the album now. All this is from my notes from the previews, nothing everyone didn't hear.

Have faith. I have a feeling they're going to be something special. Calm The Fire, Cry of Achilles, Fortress, Blackbird, Burn it Down, everything they've made over 6 minutes usually ends up being the best ones. Geez, you go to Canada for a few days and when you come back there is a giant smoking crater where the forum used to be and zaz left crumbs all over where I used to be. Wow.
18 Days Remain
On the amazing side though, one of the hockey rinks where my son played was playing My Champion on ht arena PA during stoppages in play during the first period. I found the audio guy and told him how fantastic that was, so he played it in parts of the 2nd and 3rd periods, too.

Still sour that you came to Canada and didn't visit me, Greggbruin wrote:Geez, you go to Canada for a few days and when you come back there is a giant smoking crater where the forum used to be and zaz left crumbs all over where I used to be. Wow.
