Honestly, I don't know why people just can't be patient until something like AB uploaded the track on their Youtube page or the track hitting Spotify in a couple of hours.

I really like this song. Good change of pace for the band since everything on Fortress was pretty heavy/more on the darker side. It doesn't feel like a typical AB song, but it's good.

Well, looks like I'm eating some crow tonight! The full song sounds a lot better than any of the snippets led me to believe. The chorus lyrics are still pretty damn cheesy, but they work better in context of the full song.

I still prefer it when the band gets dark and brooding, but this isn't the disaster that I feared it'd be from the snippets.

I am assuming that the first 3 tracks are going to be really heavy and then this was put to give the listener a breather. Also, I can't imagine You Will Be Remembered and Twilight to be heavy as well. This album seems to have some nice variations in the mood of the songs.

On another note, has anyone tried to sing along? Both Show Me a Leader and My Champion are so difficult to sing!

I tried in the car just now, the pre chorus is difficult for me but everything else isn't too bad (I'm also a tenor, just can't always reach falsetto).

I love the noodly intro riff! The pre chorus is probably my favorite part of the song. Anyways, currently i like this better than SMAL on the first couple listens, could just be because its a more uplifting tune.

Just a personal opinion of course, but oh my god, really don't like My Champion.
Such a bad song ; this is nowhere near the quality of the band I've loved so much over the past years.
Not impressed by SMAL before as well, aside from some nice instrumentals.
Really hoping for some real AB sound for the remaining 12 songs.
Just an honest opinion I truly wished I had not to express right now.
I just can not call these 2 songs gems only beceause they are new AB-songs ; disappointed untill now.

Okay, I've only listened to it twice so far, so it likely will grow on me to a degree, but at this point I'm not a fan of this one. SMAL works much better for me. I have always preferred their darker, gloomier side. And -as others have mentioned it too - I miss Myles's lower register, more bite in his voice. Can't wait for October to hear the rest.
