Re: Official "The Last Hero" Thread
It's giving me a message saying "The maximum quanity of Alter Bridge posters that can be ordered is 0".
Does this mean I missed out?

Re: Official "The Last Hero" Thread
Yeah. Getting mine now, too. Not thrilled about having to pay $12 for priority shipping, though.
Re: Official "The Last Hero" Thread
I'm struggling to decide between the CD and the vinyl. I don't even have a turntable but I could always get one somewhere down the line. Until then it would be more of a collector's item.
Has anyone tried to buy vinyls for the previous albums a long time after they were released? If so, is it tough to find them for sale anywhere?

Re: Official "The Last Hero" Thread
I'd like to say I'd do the same, Even if just to support the band, but am I the only one who doesn't understand ordering multiple copies of the same thing? I could understand if it breaks or becomes unplayable but buying the same album multiple times for different packages, a bonus track, or vinyl version seems like a waste of money to me. I also have no one I can give my free copies to either so maybe that's why.Jim wrote: I'll be getting the album in every format it comes though, in every version it comes. Because 2016
Re: Official "The Last Hero" Thread
Yeah I won't be buying multiple copies of the same thing.. I'll get a digital copy of the normal album then physical copies of each edition that's released with differences like tracks and covers and what-not.
I'll always get the iTunes version of an album I love because it's kept safe there always too. Physical copies can go walkabout sometimes

5 hours really isn't that far. I drive 4.5 every time they come to KC. Getting ready to drive 4 to Tulsa. You should go see your favorite band any time you get the chance, Shea. Who knows what can happen in the future.

Re: Official "The Last Hero" Thread
I concur. If the only headlining show in the southwest region of the country was in Las Vegas, I would certainly make the trip there. Heck, at the LA show I was at, which was the only show in the southwest region for the Fortress tour, I'm sure there was bound to be people from Nevada, Arizona, etc. that's willing to make the drive.

Something tells me that we may get more shows this album cycle.

Re: Official "The Last Hero" Thread
The red/gold/white vinyl is limited to 200. So it's a collectors item thing. That's the only reason I got them. Otherwise one would've sufficed.
Photobucket cash grab.

Re: Official "The Last Hero" Thread
So I've been looking over the track lengths for the album and I noticed that we seem to have a second "epic" on the record aside from This Side of Fate- the title track is 6:42!

It's not just a hipster thing.SHEAKENBAKEN wrote:vinyl version seems like a waste of money to me
The sound is usually much better, because it technically can't be as loud as a CD or an mp3 file.
If you try to make it as loud when you cut the vinyl, the songs will just skip.
Sometimes, the job is poorly done, and they use the same mastering as the CD at a lower level, and you won't hear much difference (even though vinyl artefacts make you think it's better).
But if they use a more dynamic mastering (which means not as loud and brickwalled), then you'll have a completely different sounding album.
All I'm saying is vinyls actually sound better, but you'll need an expensive gear to really hear the difference.
