Alter Bridge Sign With Napalm Records

http://label.napalmrecords.com/blog/?entryID=791
Napalm Records is honored and excited to announce the signing of Orlando, Florida based hard rockers ALTER BRIDGE for WORLD excluding North America!

Started in 2004 by Mark Tremonti and Scott Phillips, Myles Kennedy and Brian Marshall ALTER BRIDGE are one of the premiere hard rock bands of today. Layered with bone-chilling vocals that rival powerhouses such as Layne Staley and Ronnie James Dio, the band showcases true versatility with sultry rock ballads and shredding metal riffs.

Whether it be through relentless touring, chart-topping albums (their self-titled debut has been certified Gold) or even a WWE wrestler’s theme music, ALTER BRIDGE are the true definition of rock and roll musicianship. Their last effort “Fortress” (2013) topped charts world-wide with a #6 UK Chart entry.

"We are pleased to announce we will be joining forces with Napalm Records as we embark on the next phase of our journey. We are very excited to see what the future brings and look forward to reconnecting with our fans in 2016,” says ALTER BRIDGE frontman Myles Kennedy.

Thomas Caser, CEO Napalm Records states: “This is a ground-breaking signing for our label. To work with one of the best and biggest Rock acts of our times marks a new time-bill for us. We will go above and beyond to make the upcoming album the huge success it deserves!”

Napalm is good, from what I know, and one of the bigger rock/metal labels. Happy to hear this.

A LOT of bands I've never heard of though.

That's an odd pairing... I guess it doesn't hurt to be the odd one out in a label, but I definitely didn't see this one coming.

One Day Remains wasn't self titled by the way.

Let's just hope this is true. Curios to see what, if anything, changes from their usual album release coverage in media.

It IS a little strange, considering that Napalm has a huge EU roster.

Well AB is much more successful over in EU so I guess they figured it made sense? Although I think maybe a label who would try to push the US and Canada fanbase would make more sense personally.

For the label it makes sense, for AB, I don't know, unless they decided to really focus on the European market.

I've never heard of a single band on their list....

Glad to see they signed with such a huge label.

Career suicide in the states IMO

They're still on their own label in the US, so nothing's really changed there.

Plenty of big bands on there. DevilDriver, Kamelot, Moonspell, HammerFall...

Curious how this is going to affect the bands they're gonna tour with. A band like The Answer, who are more classic rock oriented could work pretty well.

My recent favorite, Unleash The Archers, are also on Napalm. The difference between their first two albums and the one with Napalm is huge, in a positive sense (for me at least).

I'm curious to see if they will find with this label what all other labels omitted to give them..

The Answer opened for AB back in 2004..

I wonder if this will mean a heavier sound for AB or am I too stuck in the past?

Have they left Roadrunner on normal terms? Or were there some problems are in case of Wind-Up and Universal?

Ha! I had no idea!

This remains to be seen (heard), but personally I don't think it will influence the sound of the album. Most of the music was written before they signed with Napalm. It might influence the singles they pick and the tone of the video clips, but that's probably it. They've been talking about the album containing a lot of varying sounds and about there being something for everybody, so I don't think they've made something particularly heavy.

Otep, Kamelot, Coal Chamber, & Cold are probably the biggest names that caught my eye. I don't really care who's on the label.. I just want them to make AB their main priority.

I don't know about this from my view. I thought Roadrunner Records was a good fit for them and they went well with bands like Trivium, Dream Theater, Opeth, Stone Sour, (Roadrunner used to have Black Stone Cherry but they left and now is with Mascot Label Group).

So with Napalm apparently claiming that AB is one of their biggest signing at this point, maybe they'll push them as such, and maybe AB can commit more as a band this time.

In any case, they are still independent in the states right?
