So I can't really explain why but this song made me think of the phrase "porn rock," or maybe "stripper rock."
Oh no, like Halestorm?

^^ Halestorm is not even that bad in that front, with the exception of a few songs. I'm thinking more like the not so great side to Slash/Myles/Conspirators.

Based on what I've read, My Champion, Cradle to the Grave, The Last Hero, You Will Be Remembered seem like standouts.

ABW's review of My Champion, and Ashley's review of The Last Hero sound right down my alley. And I always love tribute songs, because they always seem to feature the most meaningful and relatable lyrics. So You Will Be Remembered is one I'm looking out for.

Totally called that twice yesterday... being the song that was BMarsh's favorite. He seems to be a huge fan and celebrator of the military, and its not a total surprise that would be his favorite.

I can't answer the question about if Myles sounds like he does with Slash because I have not heard a single Conspirators song, ever :-)

But anyone who has called The Last Hero "porn rock" or "stripper rock" wasn't listening to the same album I was.

I've gotten salty about the Slash thing before too, but this is kind of excessive, Ashlee! :lol

Wow! Awesome reviews! Both of Them! Thanks a lot guys!

Is there anyone who won't listen to any single/song previews/making-of stuff and directly listen to the album?

^^ I tried that during the Fortress album. It was insanely difficult, especially, at the rate that I was posting here during that time. I'm not going through that again. That stated, if there are any leaks or any official streams through Loudwire, I won't listen to those, since I would rather want to listen to the album after I buy it. That stated, I would want to hear the new single if it is on their Youtube page or Napalm Record's and the like.

Technically speaking; everyone who went to the LP did that :lol But seriously there's no way I could manage especially after all this information.

I'll probably listen to the single/any other full songs that get officially released beforehand. I don't really listen to 30 second clips anymore. Kinda puts a damper on the first listen.

I am planning to try and do the same. Though I know this is going to be really difficult. But I want to try this once. When Dust single was officially released, I had listened to it so many times that in my first playthrough of the album I wanted to skip it and I did. I know that Alter Bridge albums are not the ones where one song flows into the other so it might not be absolutely essential to hear it sequentially. But I want to experience the time I had with Blackbird.

P.S. - This is probably going to be a huge fail as I would jump at any new stuff which comes out including any leaks. This might be an unpopular opinion but I feel it is not wrong to listen to a leak if you are buying the album when it comes out. :P

Blown away by the listener reviews! Thanks so much for sharing this! It's gonna be a long wait for sure...

This indeed caused some controversy with Tremonti's latest album... Which was partly my mistake. Thin ice, my friend! ;-) I guess I've learned that supporting leaks in any way (website visits, torrent sharing) is bad for the band or music in general either way, no matter how many legal copies you might have. And all that for a crappy quality preview. So my advice is to just wait those few extra days...

Mad props to Ashlee and abw for those extensive reviews! That really got the hype train rolling for me even more than it already was anyway!

I'm a little bit worried about the overall theme of the album, and especially You Will Be Remembered because I'm a huge opponent of glorifying the military, especially the US army which has a rich history of not "defending" their country but rather killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people for stupid reasons, and it makes me kinda sad that my favourite band is a bunch of patriots, but hell, I love those guys anyway and their music is the best thing in the world.

Exactly, that's why I almost never listen to that song although I like it musically...

You are right. But it's really tough to do that. :lol
Anyways, now I feel that the best thing to do is to not discuss this in the forum. :)

You can support the troops and yet disagree with some of the military's actions at the same time. The two arent mutually exclusive.
