Re: AB's Billboard Boxscore Results

Well, even if the US 2014 #s are not as large as the ones in Europe, it's still an improvement from past tours. Here's one result that I found from the same venue in Jersey back in 2010 with the same opening band in the form of Like A Storm.

169 Alter Bridge, Taddy Porter, Like a Storm Starland Ballroom Sayreville, N.J. Dec. 17, 2010 $25,946 1,623 / 2,000 1 / 0 $25, $20 AEG Live

http://pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/ ... 04-23-2011

They more than doubled the revenue almost four years later and had about 300 more people come so that's a big improvement.

Nowadays, do they get paid by a certain percentage of the revenue they make or by the guarantees from their agency/venue owner/etc?

Edit: While I kept browsing through the boxscore archives, here what I found from their show in Manchester back in 2008.

45 Alter Bridge Manchester Apollo Manchester, U.K. Nov. 9, 2008 $56,049 2,238 / 3,100
1 / 0 $25.04 Live Nation-U.K.

http://pulsemusic.proboards.com/thread/81589

Funny thing that they, six years ago, made the same amount of revenue in Jersey, in 2014, in a big market in the UK, while 3-5 years later, they made $300-400K in revenue in the same location, playing in a bigger venue. Having supports like Black Stone Cherry, Shinedown, and Halestorm helped a lot though.

Haha, this conversation randomly remembers me of that guy who said that 30STM are only famous in Europe because Europe doesn't have any good music.

Wat? :D

Didn't know One Direction are European until now. But, well, on the other hand they are just British, which isn't really Europe. :D We Germans only spawned Tokio Hotel (does anyone of you even remember them?). Uhh and yeah, we are also the only country in which David Hasselhoff still is a global superstar. :wtf :shifty

Tokio Hotel has a new album out! I like a couple of songs on it. The problem I find with FM rock stations here is they play a lot of classic rock too, or just the same big hits from older and recent bands. Maybe it's due to an older demographic listening to rock? Of course if they only play the old stuff, that won't improve. I like SiriusXM Octane satellite radio for playing things I can't hear elsewhere.

Mr. Slash wrote:How can they make minus when they are capable of making up to 300k in one gig. I really can not believe that the guys never made a plus in 10 years of touring. Especially cause AB is one of the more popular bands these days.
So where did the guys get their money from, if not from touring?
Don't forget they bought themselves out of 3 record deals. I'm sure those weren't cheap.
Photobucket cash grab.

Did they have any contract with Elektra? I remember one of their nonalbum tracks being on an Elektra sampler or something.

Save Me was on the Elektra movie soundtrack (which I believe was a wind up record). I don't think they had anything to do with the Elektra record label.

In the US, AB has their own label (Alter Bridge Music). AB has Caroline (part of Capitol Music Group/EMI) distribute the album. The ironic thing is that Universal Music Group bought Capitol Music Group. So, AB is now in a way part of a Universal Music Group again.

2007 was not a good year for them in the US. You can see why they lost a lot of money during Blackbird tour. Some of the numbers are depressing. Fortunately, Europe was a strong market for them and help them survive as a band.

Really, south carolina? Just 208 cared to see AB in 2007?

^^ Wow, from those #s, no wonder they didn't visit the Carolinas other than for Carolina Rebellion.

Also, damn, baby. From that link, even, arguably, their biggest market in the states was not doing as well as it should be in that time period.

$23,815

This one is all right, although the revenue is probably off by $20k more.

Yikes. Just goes to show you how important airplay is here in the US. Seems like once "Isolation" tore up the charts, their concert attendance shot way up.

Such a shame that ATP didn't do very well on the radio. Not surprising though... I think it was a pretty weak single.

I don't think it got enough promotion.. The song itself was strong enough to be a good single.

It got to #4 and sustained itself of being in the top 10 for a couple of months. It's not bad. Granted, it didn't get them a good spot of one of those touring festivals like Carnival of Madness or Uproar. Then again, I really did not like AB doing those kinds of tours and those tours do not do stunning numbers on the boxscore, anyway, so yeah.

All I'm saying is that, for the most part, AB did good, this year, in the US. Sure, they only played 24 of their own headlining shows. But for the most part, they were playing in packed venues in front of good fans, so yeah. I just wished they kept going for 2015, but who knows?

Finally, I can bump this thread, as the summer tour with Disturbed/Breaking Benjamin has two shows listed on the boxscore this week.

Disturbed & Breaking Benjamin, Alter Bridge, Saint Asonia Jiffy Lube Live Bristow, Va. July 10, 2016 $400,132 11,491 /
23,305 1 / 0 $79.95, $29.95 Live Nation

Disturbed & Breaking Benjamin, Alter Bridge, Saint Asonia Lakeview Amphitheater Geddes, N.Y. July 9, 2016 $316,299 9,926 /
17,306 1 / 0 $79.95, $29.95 Live Nation

On the downside, sure it did not sell out. On the upside, the actual attendance number and actual ticket revenue looks solid enough for this sort of tour.

Is that number split between the bands, or is that based on AB's cut?
