I can't wait for that one tonight. Ghost is my song (as if you can't tell by my sig). Hoping for one of Slip, AHIG or Still Remains as well, since they soundchecked it a few days ago. Glad you guys had fun.

Info on San Antonio venue change.

http://www.mysanantonio.com/entertainme ... 825107.php

Mid-way down:
"It was first booked for Sunken Garden Theater, but the festival saw Headliner Seether drop out and it lost a title sponsor, KISS-FM, as well. That prompted the new venue."

Must have been early on for the Seether thing as it's always been AB headlining since I first heard about the show. Sponsored by Miller Lite now.

Oh well, 3500 capacity isn't 5000, but it's not 400 so... on with the show! Hoping for a nice turnout, and I don't get the Ebola on my connection through Dallas!

Not really sure why they put chairs in the front section. When I saw Creed at the Wiltern in LA they had them. That's where I'm seeing AB so im afraid they might put them out again. Even though the tix say general admission.

Ahhhh, 3500. I actually thought it was probably 2000, or something, judging on the math when I was trying to figure out the capacity of that venue.

Yep, it was early that Seether was headlining, and dropped. It was then that maybe, just maybe, if there was a good turnout (4k-5k) with AB headlining in San Antonio, maybe they can get some more respectable playing time in the bigger US hard rock festivals.

With this line-up on their day, though, maybe not.

On another note, why do people keep typing Alter Bridge as one word?

I haven't played one, but I'm not completely up on the Archon from the clips I've heard. It has a great clean channel, but I think the distortion sounds a little fizzy for nearly a $2,000 amp. I'm a bigger fan of the Uberschall and the EVH 5150 III. Erock is using the EVH on the Tremonti record, and I think he used it on All I Was too.

Sorry to threadjack but owning an Archon I can say its much fizzy in comparison to my Dual Rectifier. I can do clips of both if you'd like through a two notes torpedo live so there won't be any worry of difference in recording technique. I can also adjust the settings on both.

I understand tone is very subjective, but aside from some effects loop noise, the Archon in my opinion is much smoother (like an uberschall) than the rectifier. Let me know if you guys are interested in hearing some comparisons.

Also, it is amazing to see Mark adding that guy to the guest list so he could attend the show. That is a really classy move! The gear rig was my favorite part. Feeling those cabinets and monitors at those volumes was euphoric.

I think part of it comes down to preference. The Archon reminds me a lot of Orange amps...good product that's priced a little bit too high. PRS has never been known for making amazing amplifiers (for my tastes anyways, but they've always been a guitar company first), so the Archon is the first one they've released that really grabbed my attention.

I absolutely love the amp's clean channel. I think I just need to hear one in person. Because every time I've heard a clip of the drive channel, it sounds like someone threw a large blanket over top the speaker cabinet. I can't tell if that's been how it sounds through all the recordings I've heard or if it's actually how the amp sounds to my ears. It's a good overdrive tone, I just don't think it cuts through like a 5150 III, Mark 5, etc.

But yeah if you ever wanna post more clips I'd be game to check them out!

It's certainly preference. To me the Orange amps cut a little more through a mix and are brighter than an archon; the Tiny Terror and Rockerverb 50 I played at least.

Looking at your last sentence though I fully understand what you mean now. The 5150III and Mark V are a little brighter and maybe have some more mid focus on them kind of like the rectifier does. I'll definitely post up a clip of the Dual Recto vs the Archon and then blend the two.

I think something happened with Cornford regarding their licensing and quality control. At some point in 2013 they had stopped producing them and were looking for another manufacturer here in the States. Not sure what ended up happening though

Probably my favorite live video of Fortress. Ever. That video was so damn good.

I've been noticing this in a lot of videos of this fall tour, but it sounds like Myles is really starting to use that lower register more often and is getting comfortable with it again. Sounds amazing to me

:yeahthat +1
Myles' lower register is my favorite part of his voice. I mean, sure it's amazing when he gets those F#5s and higher; but there's something about his tone in the lower register (C#2-E3) that put me on :cloud9

Speaking of that show in San Antonio. Those that went, how did that go?

The setlist of that show according to the channel of that Fortress video.

Addicted to Pain
White Knuckles
Ghost of Days Gone By
Come to Life
Cry of Achilles
Brand New Start
Fortress
Ties That Bind
Waters Rising
Metalingus
Blackbird
Watch Over You
Isolation
Open Your Eyes
Guitar Solos
Rise Today

Pretty decent set for headlining a small festival, I think.

Hopefully I can get a shirt without spending $30 lol anyone who is going I would love to meet fellow board members. I'll be there around 2 hanging with Faeriegirl (Jen)

What he meant by that is that during their performance of Metalingus, there's a train that goes by (at least I would assume it's unintentional) and they have to sort of wait it out and improvise until the train gets out of range/stops the sounds.

At the bethlehem show they gave us a beanie, a poster, a VIP hologram card and the VIP necklace thing.
